I do not trust you haters anymore. Just finished Omega. Why omega is bad whereas LOTSB is great again?

It's really quite fascinating. Because I don't like my ME3 squad and can barely remember to access the content I do have with them. I tend to play Shepard's who'd be very jaded with the Alliance at this point, something ME3 doesn't really allow for. So Omega feels like an RP vacation. I loathe Aria, but it's a "I want to punch you" hate and not the vague feelings I have for my squad. Trolling her in the Renegade end is delightful. I love Nyreen to bits, and Oleg is one of my favorite characters in the franchise. So Omega was worth every penny.

Omega is no more "pew pew" than the rest of the trilogy and actually offers decent RP choices for Shep. Citadel? I want my money back.

I like certain party setups and the infiltration mission. But I wish I could skip the other parts of the mission, especially the archives.

Omega? The last third gets a little combat-heavy. but that's what the "Casual" difficulty is for.

The infiltration is nice but the jokes just don't stop ever. I will admit Cortez's romance stuff is very nice, and Thane's content is pure gold. But I wanted more...heft. I didn't want to wonder what was canon and what wasn't. And if I had problems with a railroaded Shep before, Citadel made them worse.

I think all the combat is bad - I'm just in it for the cutscenes!

You want combat? Go play multi-player.

You're forgetting one major thing. LotSB had Liara, Omega did not.

Can't argue with that! Image IPB

Also having Liara in LotSB just had more impact because she wasn't in the vanilla ME2 game. Gameplay in ME2 felt more fun because, of course, squadmates used to say things during combat! ME3 is mute.

I never realized how much I missed Garrus'  "SCOPED and DROPPED!" comment before you pointed that out.:crying:

Annoying combat banter does not make combat fun. It just makes it annoying and a drag. I'll take mute and talk at certain parts of missions over stupid annoying one liners anyday.

Perhaps people simply became more cynical after the whole ending thing?

That's probably at least part of it.

I also used to miss squadmates getting p***** at Shep, after I shot them multiple times during battle.
But, in ME3, nothing. All of them are pushovers...and it makes me a bit sad.

Omega isn't that bad. If it had become a hub world a lot less people would complain about it.

Pretty much all the DLC missions have been irrelevant to the main plot of the series, so that isn't a unique criticism of Omega.

They could have put in a little more info about the history of Omega or Aria, but the latter was always reluctant to tell anyone anything about her past so that could be considered out of character for her.

I REALLY missed the ME2 style squad battlefield banter.  Garrus always saying "Concussive shot ready," and "headSHOT!" and several others.  Playing through ME3, there was virtually no squad banter aside from Citadel.

On topic, I think one reason people had a problem with Omega is because it was glitchy.  There were several glitches, some of them were quite glaring.  It seemed like it could have used some more time to polish.

I enjoyed Omega, but LoTSB still stands as one of my favorite pieces of DLC ever.  And the earlier point mentioned, the Shadowbroker ship hub and all the extra content in there really added to what made LoTSB great, whereas Omega had none of that.

Ethical dlc issues aside (and they are pretty serious) shadow broker was a really unusual dlc, its probably one of the few dlcs I would classify as good. It also filled in the liara character who was ridiculously absent in me2.

Also the ramifications of the dlc pre me3 were huge (despite the fact me3 did nothing with it, we didn't know that at the time)

I have only played LotSB not Omega.
However I have seen ppl saying SB sucked and I have seen ppl saying SB rocks. I personally think it rocks..!
Is Omega bad or good? Why don't you decide? Why even listen to ppl who express themselves with hate? Why not go pick up the creative critique and then make a decision for yourself? It doesn't make sense to come here saying you'll never trust the haters again.. Surely you can get a feel of what's in the DLC by reading about it. In the end you're only gonna know what you feel once you've done it. You shouldn't pay that much attention to personal taste from others, since.. It's personal. It has nothing to do with.. Well.. Trust..
I'm planning on getting Omega, cause I luff me some Aria and such, I have read a bit, and I think it is to my liking, so I shall get it. That's as close as I'll get to knowing right now.. Since again.. It's personal. No matter what you or the "haters" say.

- Who knows, when I pick it up and end it, I may disagree with you? I won't come in here and tell you that you lied to me and such, just because you didn't feel like I do. I think it's great that BioWare made something for everyone, enjoy what you want of it, leave the rest. Can't have it all, all the time.

I hope you understand what I mean man, no offense, like really, it's just.. This thread doesn't seem too.. Creative itself. It just seems like you disagree with others. Like they did with you to start with.

Sorry sorry, rant, rant. I just can't pass up a thread like this. I mean.. Cm on man. Personal taste, spending money and disappointments doesn't make a good mixture. I get if some ppl get mad. And we just gotta accept that some ppl goes ballistic on the interwebs when it doesn't go their way. Most of the comments in this thread is actually just saying what they think Omega was like, those are the comments that I can use when I make my decision. The other things.. Man.. It's just.. Ppl being mad you know. They're urry where. Choose what to believe wisely. Don't let it taint you.

I shall give you a heart, cause I feel bad for writing this ****.

<3 I still luff you all.

To the OP:
There are a lot of people in the world who love to complain. Many of these people are also fairly bad at articulating their ideas. Some even think, "it's just my opinion man" is an argument. The internet was invented for these people.

Go to any forum for any game that has sold a significant amount of copies. You will find the boards littered with complaints - often along with praise for previous games made by the developer (rose-colored glasses seem to be standard issue on the interwebs). The sad truth is, a game's forums are probably the worst place to go to get a dispassionate assessment of the game.

Personally, I (still) think Lair of the Shadow Broker is the best single player DLC Bioware have released for any of the Mass Effect games. Closely followed by Leviathan.

Don't get me wrong, Omega was good, but it just didn't feel as epic or as involving to me as the those two. I'd rank it around the same enjoyment level as Kasumi's DLC. Good, but not an absolute must-have.

Having read all the arguments against it in the first place i exprienced something way different that what you hating guys appeared it to be. Stop hating please.
Omega is combat heavy but so was LOTSB!
Omega is as lentghty as LOTSB.
Omega has more dialogue and CHOICES than LOTSB.
Omega has MORE meaningful chocies than LOTSB, Aria can be influenced by ALL your previous dialogue!!!
Nyreen was great!!!
The layout of the levels is superb!!! Bioware montreal gained my loyalty!!!

####SPOILER####
Her Death was not stupid at all! what have i been reading in here all this time!!!! it made sense (same as thane's if you pay attetenion to the story-scenes) , did you actually see that she protected the civilians or no??
####SPOILER END####

I am amazed at the complaints here all the time! Omega left me speachless, it is on par with LOTSB but for the sake of hating Me3 (as if that shallow terrible game named Skyrim is any better) some bashed it.

I didn't like Omega or Lair of the Shadow Broker. I will agree with you, though, that I hated them for much the same reasons as you did. I'm stuck with some random skank that I hate that everone talks about, and it felt like I was no longer the hero of the story, just along for the ride.

yeah if you look at numbers on a bar graph omega is as many numbers as lair of the shadow broker is

but the story is less interesting, the voice acting isnt as good.  the structure and pacing is all over the place.  it feels like one of the comic books in the way the story sort of ups itself then clean breaks over and over while having compartmentalized information that doesnt feel like its part of a natural story arc.  it just feels like stuff was inserted all over the place and moved arround willy nilly.  between nyreen killing herself for no reason, aria's lack of emotion, cutscenes that feel unfinished, and hell, war assets that arent even in the right category (Oleg should be ex cerberus, not alien, and the war assets you get from omega feel like they just put a big number in there just so that it would "rival leviathan" feels hollow)

the dlc represents "the new mass effect team" and it feels just like that, another team.  a team that is probably going to give us a game that doesnt feel as good as what the main team made (citadel)  :(

You'll notice that BSN is very hypocritical when it comes to ME3. Especially when you realize LotSB has every single thing in it that everyone reviles about ME3

Oh? I didn't know that NotSB destroyed the lore with senseless ****.
