I have several characters that I'll run with the expansion, but the first one? It'll probably be my human noble male machevelian rogue. He married Anora, had Alistair executed, had Loghain take the final blow, sent Morrigan packing without ever touching her and plans to murder Anora if he can get away with it.

The First Incarnation of Neria (This one is an elementalist). She ran off with Zevran, wanting to see something of the World (Being an Elf Mage, she had more shackles on her than any of her kind, so wanted to exploit her new-found freedom). For the record, the second incarnation of Neria deals with Spirit Magic.

Also could do Theron, Who stayed in Denerim to unofficially help Alistair.

For the Orlesian GW, Kalliana, who sacrificed herself so that others could live in peace.

Queen Elyndra Cousland/Theirin has all but given up adventuring, but MAY look into a return...

I've ended the game with 2 characters so far so I would probably play my "canon" character first - Female Dalish Elf who romanced Alistair and ran off with him to rebuild the Grey Wardens with Anora as queen. Gosh, I really hope that Alistair really does stay by my side in Awakening and is not making a memorial for Duncan during this time. I mean, he can make the memorial, but I'd like it done AFTER Awakening. xD

The second playthrough I'd load up would be my male Human Noble who romanced (hardened) Leliana and chose to rebuild the Grey Wardens together and uncover the darkspawns' remaining secrets. Had Alistair and Anora married.

Haven't done the Ultimate Sacrifice ending yet as I'm deciding which one of my other characters will do the honors. :P

Human mage for me. Alister and Anora married, spared Loghain, had him lay the killing blow (seemed only fair, that he make the ultimate sacrifice for that which he loved). Freed the Circle of Magi from the Chantry, reconciled with Alister, and choose to stay with the Grey Wardens.

They have said they will adapt Awakening to your play of orgins. So if Alistair is killed in your Orgins, he's dead in your Awakening and so on...

Then I will have to play only those origins where Alistair lives which is all of them so far. However I wonder what they will do with Alistair as an exiled drunkard.

The only character I feel worth killing in as many endings as possible is Loghain.

I'd say the same for Arl Howe, but the PC has no choice but to kill him which is just the way I like it.

I'ma continue my first play through as a male human mage.  Alistar the kind/not hardened, is the lone king.  The paranoid traitor, Loghain is good and dead for the safety of the kingdom.  Anora the self serving, despotic, power hungry, tyrant, lying bwitch,  is locked up in a tower and I forgot the key somewhere in the deep roads among the dark spawn hordes.  Harrowmont the failed Dwarven king probably won't live to see the exalted march against his people.  And Morrigan got knocked up, because I couldn't nail down the Arch Demon on my first  play through with out her.  I am not claiming the child is my character's offspring although that could be a possibility, to be determined by DNA testing should the technology or it's equivalent exist in DA:A.  Never trust a swamp witch; Shale is old and wise.

If I could bring one character with me from DA:O, then it would be Shale; her eyes can pierce through the deception of others, or at least better than many.  I would bring her long, not because she's a romance option, romance only gets in the way of war.  Shale is the way of war or at least we're both on the same road.  She's more reliable than Zeveran, more versatile than Dog, smarter than Alistar, more sober than Oghren, more sociable than Sten, less squisher than Leliana as a ranged option, not as old as goody two shoes Wynn, and less Morrigan than Morrigan.

Oh yeah, did I mention Morrigan's mother is still on the loose while Morrigan is probably still wearing the "Robes of Possession?"

I'm actually not sure. I'm making a character just for awakening and I'm not sure which choices to make. I'm a Human noble, debating whether or not to harden Alistair so he and Anora can rule while Loghain and I rebuild the Wardens.

And not sure if I want werewolves on my side or not yet... :D

Can you start as a new Orlesian GW if you didn't sacrifice your DAO character?

I mean, what happens if you told Sten you'll travel with him in his land? What if you went after Morrigan? Some people ended the game knowing that their PC will finally have time to settle with his/her romance(Leliana, Zevran whatever).

Wouldn't you rather let someone else in charge of the Grey Wardens in this case knowing that your old PC has decided to do anything else than hunting Darkspawn?

I was planning on using my first character (Anora queen, Loghain alive, Alistair v. drunk, Madoc v. dead), but I read somewhere that DA:A doesn't respond to save games where the PC ends as a heroic corpse - so I'll probably pick my second character, instead. I'd like to experience what the expansion is like with an Orlesian GW, but not before I've continued from one of my own playthroughs of the original.

if your character died you can load the game and play through as the Orlesian with the choices your dead character made B)

You can? :o:wizard::kissing:

Yes. It's been confirmed. If you load a save where you died, you play the Orlesian grey warden and all your old characters main choices carry over into the sequel.

!!

Where was it confirmed? I'd really like this to be true.

The one where I killed Alistair. After seeing the trailer I want to find out how this will affect things.

Unfortunately, my favorite character is gone now because of a harddrive reformat. So, I will likely use the only character I have that completed the game. Alistair's a wandering drunk, Anora is queen, Loghain sacrificed himself, and so on.

I did plan on playing several characters (human noble warrior first, then Dalish rogue, then dwarven noble warrior, then human mage), but as much as I enjoyed my first game, I got hit by the usual "can't be arsed to play this again" bug and quit game #2 in Lothering. The hope that DA's vaunted origins and various choices we can make would help me get some replay motivation fell flat when I realized how meaningless most choices are, how there no consequences for anything, and how the origins hardly play any role during the actual game -- so why bother? *shrug*

As a result, all I have is my first and only "canon" game with my human noble sword & board warrior who sacrificed herself after killing Loghain and putting Alistair on the throne. I'm a big fan of the ultimate sacrifice, it's too epic and satisfying not to pick. So if I get the expansion I will play it with a new Warden from Orlais. I do hope there'll be references to tbe choices and outcomes each individual player made during Origins.

One thing worth seeing is an ending where you make the final sacrifice yourself and spared Loghain.

His expression when he meets you as an Orlesian Grey Warden, knowing that he is under your command, would be priceless.

Hm the one with my mage where I killed Alistair, Zevran, Wynne, the entire circle and just aobut anything else ... yea I know, but that char is just plain powerhungry with a tendency toward the psychotic. So I'm looking forward to see if anyone in awakening will come to take revenge or something :)

Since Amaranthine will play a big role in the expansion and that was the Arl-thingie of Howe, I'll play with the human noble who might have been there before, have interaction with leftover Howes etc.

First time around, I plan on using my human mage with Alistair and Anora on the throne, Loghain spared and having done the Dark Ritual.

Pretty much my "canon" ending, except I have Loghain sacrifice himself in that one.  But I'm hoping (*hope, hope, hope*) for a cameo at least, so he'll live this time.
Plus, the sadistic part of me loves the idea of him as Alistair's father-in-law.  Image IPB

 I hope there's an dialogue option: Bonjour, mon cher ami! (hug Loghain and give him a croissant)

My female elf mage "Neria" was in romance with Alistair, made him king against his will because she trusted in him more than he did. She would have respected his wish to not become king, if it were not for the self serving, despotic, power hungry, traitorous Anora. Neria wanted to sacrifice herself but Alistair stopped her and sacrificed himself instead. Even if I had known that I could have safed him by leaving him at the gate, it would not have been in character to leave him there. Two Grey Wardens stand a better chance than one against the archdemon! So she turned bitter and left the court and the Grey Wardens behind. The reward offered by the fake smiling Anora was spent to liberate the circle of mages, although she had been not totally against the templars mission. She left with Sten to the Qunari, far away from the bitter things she experienced in Ferelden.

I guess there is no way she would return. So I have to start a new Grey Warden. :)
