I had an idea about a new Mass Effect game.

So I was reading an article online about Bioware and their consideration of spin-off titles for Garrus, T.I.M., Aria, Javik and more and I had an idea.

I would really like to play a game based around Saren before he went rogue. I would set it immediately after the events of Mass Effect: Retribution with Anderson and it would be cool to see Anderson spliced in there in a couple cameo's....

But it would be cool to play the savage beast that he was...the unfeeling, remorseless bastard but then after the mission is done and the downtime is present we see the emotional toll it takes on him and how he's in constant turmoil for his actions in always putting the mission first. It would serve as a platform for early on....we could come across all of our favorite characters before we knew them. We could see when Garrus joins C-Sec and perhaps makes a mistake and screws up a case and Saren says something ironic like "You'll never be the hero, boy" or something along those lines.

We could see Liara as a bookworm, bump into Commander Shepard when he's just a boy and throw in a line where he's like "One day I'm gonna be like him!" (referring to Saren) and him saying "I'm going to be a commander! Commander Shepard!" and have a balloon in his hand or something and his guardian laughing and being like I bet you will!

We could play Saren's missions, walk in Saren's shoes and live Saren's life and show how he was contacted by Sovereign and the toll it took on him and how he went from ruthless bastard to certifiably insane.

I feel like it would be so good...Saren's original objective ends and the game focuses on Saren hunting information for the beacon on Eden Prime and then he finds it and rallies the Geth and the game ends.

That way it picks up right when Commander Shepard arrives with Jenkins and Alenko on Eden Prime. The emotional and mental journey would open Saren's character up to more than just a two dimensional reaper puppet.

Thoughts?

I'm afraid I would have to disagree :-(

Only because I think they need to move this series on rather than go back the way. Don't get me wrong I appreciate where you are coming from in terms of from the books etc as in them he was much more of a cool calm and collected killer. Very calculating but had glimpses or a more 'human' side if you wish.

I think this game needs to jump forward in years and take on the ending where Organics and Synthetics combined to make the ultimate beings. However, I think they should build the game in a way like the first Dragon Age. By that I mean that you can choose one of the races and you start on their restrospective planets. You go through the whole phase of being inducted into the Spectres and work for the council. Then the twist would come from say you and a few other Spectres realising that the council have a sub agenda which would be devestating for the galaxy races and you must fight through politics etc. Involve more with the gangs set up and maybe even infiltrate them and be one of them to progress the story. There is sooooo much they can do since the lore for this universe is that massive.
To me though they need to concentrate on what they have rather than this invisible enemy which was the reapers and use the existing races maybe an inclusions of a few dead races or new ones.

I wish I could be a script writer for these games I tell you but English wasn't my strong point so writing down the story wouldn't be the best for me haha
