Probably, looks like the Seekers symbol in the upper left corner but the one in the middle, not a gryffon (griffon?) Maybe its some kind of Templar or Mage symbol... Not quite sure.

Well yeah...it'd be unfair either way no matter what they did. I've heard a lot of the Devs prefer playing as a female protagonist, so maybe they just imported their female protagonist into it and didn't think anyone would care enough to nitpick that throughly.

DA2 was a rushed mess, but still not a "bad" game, just not the standard BW quality. ME3 was a rushed mess w/ moments of greatness and moments of WTF.

Fall 2014 is just fine.

It wouldn't surprise me if the other one was a book by Varric, given Cassandra's interest in Hawke and associates. It might be she's got it ostensibly for "research".

Oddly enough, the book ON the map (the one with the skull sitting on top of it) looks like the back of the 3.5e DMG to me.

Makes sense, but it also is a unwise choice, because that is what it resolves too = speculation.
Female Hawke in the sack, Aveline, Merril, Isabela.. unless thats what they were looking for, then by all means they win everything because thats what its caused.

I was hoping for Fall 2014 since DA2 came out. So i'm delighted by that.

The way Varric put his hand on the specific corpse suggests it's someone he knew to me.My first bet would be on Merril. Considering what's going on with the veil, I would expect the normal populace to use any unfortunate mage they can get their hands on as a scapegoat and lynch them just for being a mage. She's also close enough to Varric to warrant his reaction as far as I know.

Perhaps a potential consequence of a decision by the PC? That would be.... Way, way awesome actually .
