A map of a battlefield, maybe?
Maybe, look closely and it says The Empire Of Orlais, so I can see thats where THAT battle is taking place at.
Any was symboles attached to each "camp" ... maybe signifying which "faction" is positioned were ?
Probably, looks like the Seekers symbol in the upper left corner but the one in the middle, not a gryffon (griffon?) Maybe its some kind of Templar or Mage symbol... Not quite sure.
Well, as far as I can see, the black thing on the centre-right part of the map looks like the Waking Sea - but only the Orlesian part. There are ships there, maybe attacking Orlais?
And what's more interesing to me is the symbol on the upper-right corner, right next to what looks like two tents. Any suggestions?

Whats up with the moles ? She got skin cancer now ?
Beauty mark. Anything but beautiful IMHO. I don´t want Morrigan resembling Cindy Crawford at all.

MORRIGON's BACK! Yes. Now just get the Grey Warden back, and then everything would be okay, or better yet play as the child of the Warden, and Morrigon.
Wouldnt that just be a big FU to all those that didn't
go though with the Dark Ritual?
Pretty much, but I wouldn't know. Morrigan always ends up having my male warden's or Alistair's baby.
yay for
MORROGORN

Right. So I'm thinking it's someone Varric knew, or a companion of Hawkes. I'm not guessing it's Hawke anymore, because then what about Male Hawke?
They could have "imported" a female Hawke DA2 ?
Well yeah...it'd be unfair either way no matter what they did. I've heard a lot of the Devs prefer playing as a female protagonist, so maybe they just imported their female protagonist into it and didn't think anyone would care enough to nitpick that throughly.
I doubt it, it has to be another female character. They should know their fans would nitpick everything

Indeed. I dont know why everyone jumps in right away with the "zomg [insert fave character here/hawke] IS DEAD!!1!1!
Im going to laugh when its revealed that it was not anybody Varric knew and that he was just reacting to all the death and destruction around him

Now? Eh... Certainly looks better than Origins or DA2 but compare that to something like The Witcher 3 gameplay from today and eh. The game looks more technically proficient visually, but maybe its just the art style not cutting it.
To their credit, Varric and Cassandra's models looked good. Higher fidelity but very much the same basic features and before. The rounded/square jaw thing is still present though.
Morrigan's character design looked terrible. Nevermind the Uncanny Valley mouth animation but her face isn't nearly as accurate to her Origins model as Varric or Cassandra seemed to be to their DA2 looks. And her whole look was like they copied Lulu from Final Fantasy:

Just not very impressed. It just looks like they're trying to sucker people in with nostalgia for past characters and going back to the same SAVE THE WORLD FROM EVIL well that they've done countless times before. Never mind that I'm disappointed in their messaging if they don't actually shed some light on the game at E3. Just basic design pillars. Laidlaw and company said they were holding off showing stuff until they could actually SHOW gameplay. Yes, that was all in engine but it gives me zero idea how the actual gameplay will be.

The way Varric put his hand on the specific corpse suggests it's someone he knew to me.My first bet would be on Merril. Considering what's going on with the veil, I would expect the normal populace to use any unfortunate mage they can get their hands on as a scapegoat and lynch them just for being a mage. She's also close enough to Varric to warrant his reaction as far as I know.
Perhaps a potential consequence of a decision by the PC? That would be.... Way, way awesome actually.
Naw not Merrill.....BUT IMO if by some chance it is her, Hawke is also dead. (I will spare you my logic here, been a writer for too long and know better lol).
I think probably Aveline got called to duty (she is a soldier Merrill is not) and her company got either betrayed or totally overwhelmed. He is probably looking for Hawke on Casandra's order to help with the fall of about everything actually.

Actually, if Gaider is reading this thread, other things might happen. A man needs to drain thesustenance from fan tears to live, after all. So while it may have been a general sadness, it might not be now lol.

Ah, sorry I said that wrong I meant the symbol in the TOP RIGHT is the Seekers of Truth symbol, the one youre asking about.

I like her new look. Though the eyes, brows and even the nose are certainly different, she looks less generic and more iconic.

I don't see why Hawke would also be dead if Merril is in the sack. That would be plain B.S to kill Hawke if Merril was dead , because some of us didn't care for her.AutumnWitch wrote...

Might as well kill Hawke if Anders is dead. Kill Hawke if Sebastian is dead if bioware goes with that kinda logic.

Dragon for LI!
If that's not possible, I'll take Varric (hot damn!).
However...

Yeah. Cass' looks definitely took a turn for the worse. Those eyes are a letdown. Also preferred her hair in DA2. Hope the model changes between now and release. Not liking her at all.
I approve of Morrigan, on the other hand. I see she got herself some new clothes in Orlais. Like the lace. Needs more feathers though..
All in all, this got me from 0 to hyped, an ingame trailer rivaling the CGI trailers for 1 and 2. Always prefer seeing actual footage over that which looks nothing like the final profuct.

Here is a transcript of the voice-over from the trailer. I'll simply break lines where it feels appropriate.
I've seen more of this war than you can imagine.
None shall be untouched by the fires above.
Faith...lies in ashes.
Our fragile alliances...crumble to dust...
as this world...is torn asunder!
Darkness closes in.
Will you stand against it? Or leave this world to its bitter end?

Hahaha! They do know their craft.

That's a serious case of 'Beltitis syndrome'.
Honestly, if you told me this was DA:I Morrigan concept art, I would have believed it too, based on the trailer.
For the rest, I considered it underwhelming. Not bad, but definitely underwhelming. I also had an odd generic WoW vibe, not because of the visual style (in so far as this was present) but the overall tone (grim, ooh, things are grim, soooooo grim, do you really know how grim? Here, have a nice spicy Nugburger...).
My own feeling is that this isn't going to 'sell the game' to doubters, on-the-fence sitters and non-fan RPG gamers.
But perhaps actual gameplay videos and later trailers will.
