I only recognize two of the rings... one is from the Seekers and the other from the templar order. I don't like that... I don't recognize the other two though but I suspect one must be from the mage alliance. If that's not the case then I shall be very disappointed.
The circle is the symbol of the Circle of Mages, not idea about the other one though. Can't read what is written on it.
Tevinter. It would make sense. Those inscriptions might be Tevene.
Who am I kidding... that seems unlikely.
I'm 95% sure thats a Tevinter ring. It may also be a Qunari ring also, considering the Qunari are once again back.
I find that unlikely though. I would love that, but it seems unlikely that Tevinter would take a center stage without the Qunari or the Grey Wardens.
If you look on the dragonage site, and scroll down where it shows a close up of his hand, you can see the Tevinter sun in it.
Oh I just noticed it on the first one where the inquisitor is holding the helmet. I didn't notice it on the second one though the first time I saw it.
Bioware, you got my attention.

I posted this already but I'm pretty sure that those are the grey wardens, the door has that symbol and if you look at the solider he is wearing a griffon helmet.
It might be the seekers from what the trailer shows us

1- You showed no real in-game footage, but the game should be in development at least since one year ago. At this point you should be pretty far down the road of development. Moreover you posponed the release date to fall 2014. Before it was 2013. All this makes me think that at a certain point you scrapped everything you were doing and restarted from scratch. If that was the case it is not a good sign.
2- I'm really glad that Morrigan is coming back but BEWARE!!!!! Don't make the story revolve too much around her!!! Remember that the player wants to be the protagonist, the playing character must be the central point in the plot!!!
Since in Dragon Age the protagonist changes with each episode if you decide to make some characters come back from the earlier episodes you put yourself at the risk of making those characters too important for the plot. Remember what happened in DA2: Anders ending up being more important than Hawke and all that jazz. Varric doesn't worry me (since in DA2 he was just a bard, someone intitled with the task of narrating Hawke's adventures), but keep tab of what you do with:
- Morringan
- Leliana
- Flemeth
- etc.

I take it it's someones Calling, another Blight, or just random darkspawn that accidently just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, no?MisterJB wrote...
There were darkspawn corpses right at the beginning of the trailer plus bloody grey warden swords and banners. It must be the darkspawn.

Dragon Age: Origins was in development for five years, I believe. They're likely not showing gameplay yet not because they can't, but because their marketing department wants to spread the reveals throughout the time between now and fall 2014.Rahelron wrote...

That ^ also they wont want to compete with the Witcher 3 which is launching this year.

Everything in the trailer was in engine footage. That they have all those assets should tell you a thing or two. The delay likely has more to do with console releasesRahelron wrote...

Or that the release is now over a year away so any gameplay they showed would not be indicative of the final product. Given the internets (especially the BSN's) over reacting to everything and anything better to save it for when its close to a final state.

I think Fall of 2014 is a little to long, considering they've been working on it sense the ending of DA:2, but whatever. I just cant wait for more information as the time rolls by.

The footage being "in engine" means nothing. They can easily use the FB3 engine to make Blur-style cinematics just like any other modern engine. There's pretty much no chance the game will look that good, especially so being a cross-gen title.

1. Not sure I like the new engine design... looks too fable 4ish, but I'm keeping an open mind until I see more. Typically with this sort of builds, characters look very child like. 2. fall 2014? ANOTHER YEAR!?!?! This totally caught me off gaurd. Early 2014, I could see, but late.... I really and getting tired of being stringed along. 3. EXACTLY like the survey. 4. Verric, Cassandra, and Morrigan, WOOT!5. Who is this woman? Cassandra? Lady-hawke? IDK

6. The fact that every race but elves were shown, kinda scares me a bit
7. The kossith.... look..... like demons. And not in a good way...

Don't know guys. In business you can't wait 6-8 moths to monetize an investment just because you don't want to compete with your direct competitor. Moreover if facebook fans mean something than Dragon Age has 5 times more fans than The Witcher. If these two games launched toghether Bioware would crush CD Projekt, at least market-wise.
As far as development time goes I know for shure that standard videogame development cycles last 18 to 24 months. Longer cycles just mean that the high level designers (2-3 people at most) were at work on the project more than two years before the release. Be shure though: it was just paper-work and brainstorming. And let's be honest: two years are enough to create a great single player game if you have clear ideas, you don't screw up and don't need to start back from scratch.
So: if this was a standard development cycle Dragon Age 3 should be in its content creation phase. All the systems should be up and working, including combat, dialogues and all that jazz. But since:
1- We didn't see any in game system working in the E3 trailer.
2- Bioware recently announced they were changing the game engine (switching to frostbite).
3- The release has been greatly delayed (we are talking about more than a year).
4- Bioware was making "creativity weeks" and brainstoms about Dragon Age one or two months ago.
I'm pretty shure that something went bad and this game was restarted during the last months.

Thank you Allan, from the bottom of my heart for answering this. It was my BIGGEST concern about the game. I didn't think it would be as good with that level of infinate "where am i going!?!?!". Thank you.

Also on the website, the guy holding the helmet has his rings on different fingers to the ones the dragon-dagger guy wears, so maybe they are supposed to be different people.

"Pretty much no chance" Idk seeing the difference of graphics from Oblivion to Skyrim with a change of engine is quite a big thing. Seeing as how Dragon age Origins and 2 were on the same engine and the second ones graphics were better, Id say that with a switch of engines, BioWare should be able to make it look just about as good as that,
