SO GLAAAD IM EMOTIONAL. LITERALLY HAVING SOME TEARS.

With the change of engine, the game looked different and is unrecognizable from DAO and DA2. There's something not quite right about the feeling, mood and the artistic identity of Dragon Age 3 - it doesn't have its own distinct and compelling style. That is quite worrying. It's almost like a mix of Warhammer and Skyrim - it's just...flat.
The trailer's narrative else well was also disappointing, from what I've come to expect from DA games. Just plain cliche doom and gloom but zero compelling or intriguing plot to draw us into what should be a good storyline that BW loves to build.
Although the game has some ways yet for development and can be relatively easy to rectify, I still think it's a tremendous shame that characters that we know - Varric, Cassandra, Morrigan - undergone model/facial changes that made them not only barely recognizable, but plain ugly as well. It potentially sends a very bad message to lovers of the DA world - that the developers once again failed to take heed of many of the fans' dislike for mutilating their favorite characters into something unacceptable. After the mini-debacle that is DA2, that's not something the DA team should be doing. I'm sure there are a lot of love and care that went into making the game and all, but this is showing the opposite. The details matter. This kind of attitude going into it is unacceptable. Mike Laidlaw, Mark Darrah and the team have a lot yet to answer for in my book. IMO this could be the make or break game for the DA franchise planned to go on for many many games - please look closely at yourself and improve as much as possible, as fast as possible - there's still time to salvage this, it's not too late.

I admit I am starting to feel some dis appointment in the BSN fans. Seems many are so desperate for DAI to be a success, wanting a good game they're willing to simply overlook problems with the video and Morrigan's appearance. Caught me by surprise. Oh well to each his own. With the extention EA gave them they still have over a year to fix things. Shows EA really wants to save the franchise and that is good.
I've seen your comments on the Morrigan's new look thread, and now in this one. You are putting way too much importance on Morrigan's appearance.
They way she looks will neither make nor break this game you know.

I see square jaws are still a problem.

I bet this guy has a hard time fitting through doorways. Seriously.
I think just the graphic improvement is what has people moaning about the appearences. I rather like it, makes them look more "human" rather then cartoonish.Lotion Soronnar wrote...

And oversized lips. Cas and Morrigan have huge lips.
Also, the eyebrows are redicolously arched.
Can't say I lik this redesign.

I'm so glad they delayed it. SO GLAD. Now BW has more time to make it so much better and not rushed. Which was my concern for the entire run.
Claudia Black was probably being directed to sound a bit more somber and less cocky, to drum up the parallels between Morrigan and Flemeth or to make it sound like she's taking it seriously, to demonstrate how grievous the situation is. I don't think her voice has changed at all since 2009 if Admiral Xen's any indication.SweeTeeBuns wrote...
I'm so looking forward to its release, even though it's a year left!
There is one thing I noticed, does Morrigan have a new voice actor? She sounded a bit different

Archdemons look rotten; exposted sinew, pustules, etc, so odds are low. That said, the coloration and skull are unlike any high dragon we've seen so far, so it's either some subspecies we haven't seen, an Old God, Flemeth got another new model, or some other shapeshifter.Szaby59 wrote...
So is this the dragon on the trailer a new archdemon or what ?

Dragon Age the game will have to end at the end of the "Dragon Age". They can do prequels, sequels or spin-offs but Dragon Age will end at 9:99. Having the title "Dragon Age" but having the game set in the Divine Age would not make sense. If they wish to continue with the world then they can but if they are doing anything outside the "Dragon Age", it has to be titled differently.
It really doesn't. Final Fantasy is about have its fifteenth main series instalment.
I wish I could find the thread where David Gaider confirmed that DA games don't have to be set in the Dragon Age, but the search function is not proving helpful.

You do realize that the clip you're drawing inferences about plot, feeling, mood and artistic identity was less than two minutes long, right?

Does anyone have a transcript or video of the Aaron Flynn interview from yesterday a few hours after the trailer? I hope he dropped lots of new goodies.
I also hope that we get to see a lot more throughout E3. We've waited so long!

Except that's not true at all. And I've already been proven right about the trailer not being actual game footage. Gaider confirmed in the trailer thread that it's in-engine footage and not in-game.
