I hope i never see Anders again.
If he is in Inquisition then i hope we have chance to kill him again. The fart knife sound just didn't do it in DA2 for me. I want to summon bloody demon and literally drag him to hell.

It's cool that we can side with Chantry, i never supported the Chantry but just the fact that Cassandra is leading the faction makes me want to join.
Here's hoping The Wardens are also available to join.

Do we have confirmation that it is in fact Varric that we saw? I am going to be SO happy if it is! And Cassandra looked awesome and badass! I am imagining all kinds of fun party banter between the two of them :) I am happy with the look of things. Can't wait to hear more...

Yes, I believe Mary Kirby tweeted about him.

I admit I am starting to feel some dis appointment in the BSN fans. Seems many are so desperate for DAI to be a success, wanting a good game they're willing to simply overlook problems with the video and Morrigan's appearance. Caught me by surprise. Oh well to each his own. With the extention EA gave them they still have over a year to fix things. Shows EA really wants to save the franchise and that is good.

Ooh Good Lord. Can you leave Morrigan alone? Why are you making a mountain out of a mole hill? It's such a trivial and subjective matter. I like the way she looks, and you don't. What makes you think your opinion is more valid than mine? It's not, so give it a rest already.

It's a wonder how they can do that to her. Now I know what the Zevran romancers felt in DA2.

I've also romanced her in DA:O. I don't feel that they have done her unjustice at all :D

Frankly, I don't understand the complaints about Morrigan and Varric's appearances. I thought they both looked better than ever before. Eye of the beholder I suppose. Besides, Morrigan has aged ten years since last we saw her, of course she'd look a little different.

However, I'm more keen to see what elves look like this time around.

I'm not sure if it's the dead eyes or the creepy smile, but she reminds me straight up of the witch from Snow White in the trailer.

Maybe that's why she's wearing her hair like that... to hide the wart on her nose. ;)

In regards to what people say about characters looking ugly:

1) It's illogical to suggest that "ugly" characters somehow must signify a lack of developer's effort. We have to entertain the (quite plausible) possibility that the character look rugged not because the devs didn't know how to polish them, but because they wanted it to look like this.

2) To rehash a done-to-death critique that seems to nevertheless bear repeating in this context: many media portrayals engage in the act of welding a person's abilities or morals to their aesthetic appearance. If the devs don't subscribe to that formula, who's to say that it's not a good thing?

As with all business, it is the paying consumer to say what is and is not a good thing.

I honestly liked Varric and Morrigan's appearance. And like Aesir said, Morrigan has aged since last we saw her. Anyway, not my point. I'm sorry that some people don't like it. I do. Honestly, I'm a little dissapointed we didn't get more information, that is more of my main concern. Though we do know what platforms it will be for and a general release date. That's good. And you know what? As long as we get more information in more regular updates in the weeks and months to come, I think I will be okay.

What makes me curious is what some of the other familiar characters will look like. :wizard:

Uhmm... it's one thing to give your opinion that you do not like how the chracter looks.  That's your aesthetic preference.  For me, she is recognizable and has the inherent characteristics that make her Morrigan.   Do you get upset because all versions of Peter Parker do not look like Ditko's 1960s Parker?  (They changed his hair!  Oh my lord, they are heretics!  They do not care about us!) Different artists (or game engines) have different interpretations of the character.  This is not a terrible thing.

Secondly, and more importantly, if the change in appearance is affecting your fictional romance with a fictional character.. well that's another issue.

I'm not too fussed about looks, I'm just glad they got Claudia Black back to voice her.

Good lord, she looks exactly the same. The only difference is that she has a mole. People age. People grow moles. Do you really expect a 40 year old to look the same way they did when they were 30?

ETA: Varric looks much more different in comparison to his former model (not that that's necceasrily a bad thing) but you don't see so many people agonizing over his appearance "change" as much as Morrigan, do you? Why? Because he's not a woman. Honestly.

Hmm, I admit the characters in the trailer looked rather odd, particularly Morrigan.

Well then, what's your theory as to why there are exponentially more people focusing in on a perceived change in Morrigan's looks than a change in Varric's looks?

I noted really only three differences (other than the obvious upgraded tech look for the characters) For Morrigan her nose tip sagged a little which is understandable because it's been 10years or so and cartilage moves and droops over the years. Also her new moles or freckles, also either due to not really having the graphics for the details OR an addition to character based on time. Now Varric on the other hand looks...thinner framed. His head isn't as wide as I remember it, but that's all. Also I'd like to point out that this is a cinematic trailer meaning the games graphics as a whole may not look like this. Look at the trailers for DA:O and DA II...yeah the games didn't really look like that, why would this game be any different?

Some people take criticisms of the new characters looks personally, like they have something invested in it. Since Morrigan likely will be an npc anyway and not a party member any concerns about romance are irrelevant. It was for aesthetic reasons. shrugs.
People telling others to give it a rest only serves to po people off. It's not credible advice imo
As it is there's a year for Bioware to make changes.

On another issue VP Gibeau might have to remind Mr. Flynn about EA's policies about mp/on line components.rotfl.

The trailer was in-engine, not CGI like the DA:O and DA:II trailers.

The game isn't due for another year also. Chances are this isn't the final polished look for the graphics/appearances.

Hmm, let me think. Maybe because her role in DAO was so important and the sole purpose of the Witch Hunt DLC was for her to spout more mysterious clues and leave you wonder what is going on with her and Flemeth? Because she voiced the trailer and was the last one we saw, thus leaving the strongest impression? Because her return was very much anticipated and people have a lot of expectations of it? Because she was a very popular companion in DAO, one most players have an opinion on, and a possible romantic interest for the Warden as well? Her role in the DA universe is much bigger and interesting than Varric's entertaining little part.

Maybe you missed it, but the makeover of Alistair and especially Zevran was criticized a lot here, and still is.

Whatever the exact reasons, I'm getting tired of the sexist/feminist thing coming up constantly. If I would follow the opinions stated on these boards I don't like Tallis because I'm jealous of her and her stealing my female Hawke's time to shine, I don't like Morrigan's weird hair, jaw, mouth and changed nose because... eh... I'm jealous again? Secretly hate women despite being one myself (Freudian theory??)? And I am unable to enjoy The Witcher games because I lack testicles.
