I'd recommend looking at a game that has the frostbite3 graphic system, and look at their system requirements.
I'd say it's probably going to be around Skyrims system requirements, because they run on that graphic system also I believe.

Skyrim runs on the Creation Engine, which is an upgraded version of the Gamebryo engine used in Oblivion, FO3, etc.  The Frostbite 2 engine was used for Battlefield 3, and the Frostbite 3 engine is being used for DA:I and BF4.  It will likely have very high requirements to max out (same as DA2) but will be playable on lower-end hardware as well.  But don't expect to play it if you don't have at least a DX10 card.  It might even require DX11 (Radeon HD 5000+, GTX 400+)

Short answer?  Expect very high recommended and fairly high basic requirements.  Think a 660ti or a 7850.

Thank you. xD See, I knew someone who was smarter in this area than my simple fail answer would come along and correct me! :wizard:

Don't forget you can always turn the graphic details down if you're computres can't handle it, I normally play games on a medium setting even though my computer can handle the best graphics.

I normally like to max out the graphics and indulge myself in it's looks. That's why I posted here originally. I guess I could live with medium settings until I get a new PC.
My original question was intented different though.
Sometimes the demand a game puts on your engine is unneccessarily high, because the developers were too lazy to tidy it up.
A few Lucas Arts games had requirements that were ridiculously high, given the look and graphics of the game.
I'm no speciallist myself, but a friend of mine is a programmer and software developer (though not in gaming) and he claimed that stuff like that often is a result of sloppy work in the development.

I guess in essence I want to say, I can live with waiting until Fall 2014 if I then get a game that is really ready and polished to perfection. With game-breaking bugs, flaws and everything purged as best as possible before publishing.

That was it for E3? lol.. a short trailer with zero gameplay and a couple fluff interviews? I was absorbed in other E3 games but I was expecting to find a wealth of new info for DAI.. I've been scouring this thread but I guess there was nothing new?

I know its a ways off, but so is Witcher 3, and that had an enormous E3 presence and is making headlines everywhere, meanwhile I see almost nothing for DAI.

Oh well.

Can any of the Devs tell us who is writing Varric's part this time around? Is it still Mary Kirby?

Yeah it's a little saddening that there wasn't much. But this was also the Teaser trailer, something most seem to forget. It wasn't official. So I'm going to guess that around the 2014 time, there will be something released or something close. ^_^

I believe they're having problems /issues with the game hence an extention from EA and not a lot of info..

Not really?
If there were issues now, you'd never know about them.
Why would the devs feel the need to say "Man, we couldn't release the game because of bug x, but thank the gods we did now so we can release on our new schedule."

It seems like most of the time you just like being really negative, and then bend any sort of information you glean as though it supports your theories. :/

Why should we care if there are issues now or not?
The fact that they pushed back the release that far, speaks only for a more polished products, hopefully without any of the flaws bot DA2 and ME3 had,
The specific reason why isn't that important. Especially because it could be so many things.

That's bs jessabeth. Things tend to leak out after the fact. Sorry if you're not astute enough to know that.
I'm not negative. The pressure is on Bioware to succeed. Bury your head in the sand about it if you want to. shrugs.

shrugs.rotfl. I prefer the term realistic.
I've been on linkined. I've seen pics of some of the Bioware Montreal employees. I want them to succeed. It benefits us fans if they succeed. Hurts us all if they fail.

I havent posted on the Forums in so long, just never had a reason to until now. Like most of you I watched the trailer with anticipation and hope and now, like most of you I will add my Two Cents to the conversation lol. B)

1 : It Looks BEAUTIFUL, there are no other words.

2 : Do we know if the Dragon that came out of the Fade tare Flemoth? It looked like her anyway.

3 : Good to see my boy Varric again, maybe this time my female character will get a chance to romance him ? PLEASE lol

4 : My Male Mage Warden will be ECSTATIC to know that Morrigan is more beautiful then ever. I understand this is a little bit of debate on the forums so Ill just say for me, I think she looks awesome, and my character that romanced her in Origins would find her gorgeous.

5 : Was that Kirkwall I saw getting torn down? Maker I hope so, hated that place. THIS IS NOT a statement about DA2, that conversation is over and dead, I just didnt like the city itself, to many Blood Mages, Also that big crater where the Chantry use to be just gives the place a black eye :P

6 : Again, because it deserves to be said again, What I saw was beautiful.

7 : Cassandra, so nice to see that over aggressive psychotic Seeker again ... yeah I missed her. <_<

8 : Wonder if Wynns son will make an appearance, considering the end of Asunder and all?

9 : Were is my Sandal :D I NEEDS Enchantment :wizard:

10 : I have been called a Dragon Age fan boy by many of my friends in the past, Im okay with this, I LOVE Dragon Age, I didnt HATE 2 like a lot of others, but agreed it wasnt Origins. In any case, I was worried that DA3 wouldnt happen. Seriously, I was concerned, because of what went down with 2. Im Super Excited to see what is coming with DA3, and want to extend my total support to BioWare. You guys actually replaced Dungeons and Dragons with Dragon Age for me. I love the lore, love the world and cant wait to get back to Thedas. :D

P.S. As with all my posts, please note that Im not trying to impose my opinion, simply adding my voice to the many, and everything I say is of course my "personnel" opinion, which is no more important then anyone elses. I cant wait to get back to Thedas, and to BioWare, THANK YOU <3<3<3

There is a possibitly of that, but then the Dragon came from the Veil.
There is a bunch of speculation who it could be. Some believe it's Andraste, or the Maker. Some believe it's a new Fade Dragon instead of the High Dragons, it could be Flemeth; but the problem with that is that the Dragon has less..."horns" then Flemeths' DA:2 model had.

No.. I don't believe so. None of the scenery looked like Kirkwall. The war is taking place in Orlais, so it's possible the scene with Varric was in a city of Orlais, or possibly Kirkwall. But with the Wardens, if thats what you mean, that was a Warden fortress in Orlais.
Although I cannot officialy confirm what I'm saying is correct, this is all going by the Teaser Trailer and by the map Cassandra slams her blade in, is a map of the Empire Of  Orlais. =]

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think any child will be making an appearence. I don't think they'd have the time to put it in. But I could be dead wrong. Lots of people are apparently so stoked over Morrigans God Baby. Probably if enough fans demand it Bioware's walls are going to shake and they'll throw it in to be a people pleaser <_<

In regards to what people say about characters looking ugly:

1) It's illogical to suggest that "ugly" characters somehow must signify a lack of developer's effort. We have to entertain the (quite plausible) possibility that the character look rugged not because the devs didn't know how to polish them, but because they wanted it to look like this.

2) To rehash a done-to-death critique that seems to nevertheless bear repeating in this context: many media portrayals engage in the act of welding a person's abilities or morals to their aesthetic appearance. If the devs don't subscribe to that formula, who's to say that it's not a good thing?

As with all business, it is the paying consumer to say what is and is not a good thing.

I agree with you; it's just that 1) there is no such thing as THE custormer with THE opinion, and 2) what a paying customer says about one business can depend on what other businesses feed them.

It's my humble opinion as a paying customer that from what I see in the cinematic, I can go out on a limb to guess that I'll continue to support what BW thinks a paying customer should pay for. (i.e. I think they are feeding me something I'd like even if I am wide awake.) No one has to agree, tho I see a number here who do.

What *I* actually worry about, though, is precisely the opposite of what I see in some of our misgivings. What's far more salient than faces is the question of landscape.

Namely, I fear that BW will spend TOO much resource in aesthetics. Face issues aside, it will be interesting to see if DA3 will remove the forced zoom with even better graphics, and whether the open-world landscape will derail the "story" feeling of the game. I would daresay that in terms of aesthetical effort, landscapes will dominate over faces. But is it even worth it?

The appeal of realistic environment lies in the fact that it increases the degree in which the story feels like a showing, and decreases the degree where it feels like a telling. But as is with many good stories, the "show don't tell" doctrine primarily applies to climaxes, but not always to leading actions. When every leading action is "shown," it will either be ignored, or derail the narrative's essence. This is just my taste and no one has to agree, but IMO it's not so important that every side quest resemble a strobelight. I hope the bulk of the artistic effort goes towards the writing and the narration, not any sort of graphics.

Maybe there were some but I doubt there were so many that BW needed OVER A YEAR to resolve them.

Wynne's son is around 40, if memory serves right. He's one of the protagonists in Asunder.

Wrong color and it is missing a few horns. So unless they changed her model again, it is probably not her. Also, that dragon is using the World of Thedas new concept art for High Dragons.

Well, I could care less about the graphics. Dragon Age isn't known for its beauty so hopefully they won't spend so much time showing off the engine (unless it's game mechanics related).
