How will you spend your time? Is it possible for ANY DLC while we wait? While I'm not saying that I don't love the idea of Bioware taking their time on it, I'm not sure if my little heart can take the wait.

Still, though. My weekend was full of finally getting around to watching Game of Thrones (season 1). So I'm in a Ned and Drogo/Baby Kahl funk, and now I have a DA3 funk. It's a bad time for me. :-(

Gives me the chance to build a PC and get DAO and DA2 going for that, at least.

You poor dear. If you haven't seen the rest of Game of Thrones, a word of advice. It only gets more traumatic. Good luck with your PC building.

Yeah, I agree. I'm fan enough to give it the time to be a good game. (I hope)funmachine wrote...
I'm actually glad they're taking their time. It means a higher chance of a great game when it is released (or so I'm hoping)

Just because a developer takes more time to create a game, doesn't automatically mean it's going to be an awesome game. Experienced gamers should know this.
Edit: *sigh* To clarify, I hope Bioware succeeds with this strategy, but I've played one too many games that took years to develop, yet when they hit release, they failed to fly. What can I say? I'm a glass-half-empty sort of fellow.

Indeed Master of Orion 3 and the last Duke Nukem come immediately to mind. I am not complaining per se that Bioware is taking their time, but given that they've added a full year to what was at one time the release date of DA:I, I have to wonder if something seriously slipped somewhere during production. Not only that but this emphasis on calling it an "action RPG" is making me seriously queasy and it's giving me a seriously bad vibe along with some of the scenes in the trailer. It may be nothing, but still......

They're using an entire new engine. You don't just shovel out something on a new engine as quickly as you did on the old one.

I get that, but that didn't stop them from doing essentially that in DA2. I also not that the (admittedly unofficial) release estimate was the end of 2013 (and spring of 2014 was considered to be pessimistic) well AFTER the Devs had announced that they'd be using a new engine.
This is why I have to wonder if something has seriously slipped in production especially if this is all they can show us when the game was supposedly within a year of being produced not so long ago.

It's better that a game is pushed back rather than have the game pushed forward for an early release when it's not done; especially when there's been barely any testing on it. When a game comes out on console now there is hardly any updates to fix bugs and glitches. Better it all is out of the way at release then walk around the world and see yourself glitched into the world environment.

Same, gives me time to save up for some new parts for my PC and get some advice on what I should put into it. And if the wait feels too long, I always have the first two and Baldur's Gate to tied me over.nikkylee wrote...

Perhaps they realized that to produce a good game you have to give it time, you can't just force one out and hope for the best.

If anyone thinks the Witcher 3 is coming out before 2014, they're on crack.
Anyways, I'll be doing what I always do. Living my life. Playing the occaisional game that catches my interest. Etc. Only popped back on the Bioware forums because of the new DA:I info. No plans to actually sit here and re-hash theories that have been re-hashed about a billion times now just to fill the void of no DA game to play.
