I think it's an alliance. Why would the qunari start a battle with the elves? They pretty much have nothing and most of them are isolated from the rest of the world.

I see what you mean. Maybe the elves and qunari are ready to start a war with the humans? The elves blame the humans for their population decreasing and for a starting a war with them- 2 wars I believe. And the qunari hate the humans probably since the humans drove them out of Kirkwall.

They might take issue with the dalish being ruled by mages but maybe it's not the qunari at all but the tal vashoth.

The reveal was very underwhelming in my opinion. I was expecting more but didn't, and the release date hurt a little.

Well i wont go as far as saying i loved it but it was very good. I was so glad to see the graphics didnt look anything like DA2. That right there will make me want to check it out. It looks really good and im glad to see morrigan back and hope that a few more of the old companions so up for at least cameos through the game. I must say cassandra has changed since the movie but she is probally a bit older now. With an open world and the scope of the trailer i wont be surprised if we travel from fereldan to orlais and mayber further. I am looking forward to christmas next year.

About the battle(s):Verric,Wardens and Darkspawn.Cassandra,Seekers,maybe mages and demons.Dalish and Qunari.
If it is one large battle. I don't see anyone siding with the darkspawn to fight the wardens.If the  Architect was saved maybe darkspawn were fighting with the Wardens against the Qunari.
The wardens door seems to have been blown open by explosives.Who has blasting powder..Hmmmmmm.
If rumors are true and Sten was promoted,what group would he see as the largest threat to a Qunari invasion?Wardens,they unite people
Orlais has the largest standing army unafected by recent troubles.Wipe them out everyone else gives up.It would save lives in the long run.Plus Tevinter would be surrounded.
Why would the Dalish join the Qun?Dalish want their history back not use Qunari history.
Was there any Seekers killing a Warden?If not Cassandrs is there to rescue the Warden base.Misspelled words and all this is the longest I've talked.I think they are all fighting one battle against the Qunari.

I'm really impressed with what Bioware's been able to do with the Frostbite 3 engine. A lot of credit goes to DICE too. The trailer's so good a day later some people still aren't sure whether it was real-time or pre-rendered. The DA team really deserves major respect for what they've accomplished here. /salute

That really had nothing to do with the quality of the trailor and more to do with some people mis-interpreting what "game footage" means.

Or finding an excuse to vent. But thats not here nor there.

It has to have at least something to do with the quality of the trailer. You wouldn't expect the confusion if the trailer were using footage from the old Aurora or Eclipse Engines, for example.

The statue you're referring to is simply a poor man's emulation of an Avvar statue  seen throughout the game. Remember, Fade spirits are godawful at imitating what they see in the real world.

Nah, Flemeth has 5 horns that one only has 2. My guess is either a good ol' High Dragon or an uncorrupted Old God. Thanks for the pictures Tiguaje!

Actually, now that I notice it, the helm the person on the DragonAge.com page is holding has a dragon head on it that is similar to the Dragon you see in the trailer. Hmmm...

I like their new high dragons model , the old ones looks so frail ,I hated their heads .
Now this look like a proper dragon that can actually eat you with one bite .

I don't remember if it was this thread or not but someone brought up the idea of the PC having dragon blood and that's why everyone wants them. With all the dragon imagery around the protag it's starting to look like a possibility.

Loving the trailer, watched it several times now. There are a lot of things which you start to see on repeat viewings, I couldn't make out much of the war-room scene first time round, for example. I like trailers that have little details to spot.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but the covered body that Varric mourns over has a bit of parchment attached to the sack covering it. I'd guess that would be to identify the body, so Varric likely does know the person, so we might know the person as well.

People have been wanting a cameo.

I wouldn't be surprised if Varric narrates the story of how the war really started or is the initial quest giver and Morrigan/Flemeth come along soon after.
