The veil being torn (I assume that is what was shown) fits with Sandal's prophecy of magic returning to Thedas in a more complete fashion. I hope the Orlesian civil war is given its due - it could be a fascinating major side plot.
I am interested in the dragon as well.

A 'standard' high dragon, an uncorrupted old god, or Flemeth?

Am I the only one that noticed that the Seekers just declared war on the Grey Wardens in this trailer?
The trailer was certainly cut to suggest that.

I can't find this. Is the area of the map Cassandra stabs the Anderfels?

I really hope they give us some more info on that. For me, it just doesn't make sense. The Wardens exist for only 1 purpose: Darkspawn. And they pretty much ignore everything else. Why would the Seekers want to wage war with them? I hope they have some good explaination for this.

Per DA2 the Flemeth dragon has a crest, unless they're redesigning that away.DuskWarden wrote...

If you find anything worthy of interest, say it!

(muttering darkly) I can guess. The Grey Wardens have for over a thousand years accepted mages into their ranks, and not only allowed but in some cases encouraged forbidden magics (like bloodmagic) and Grey Warden Mages tend to take a much more relaxed view towards bloodmagic than the Chantry would have normally tolerated. Worse Grey Warden Mages up to this point have been completely beyond Chantry (and thus Seeker/Templar) control
It wouldn't suprise me in the slightest, if Lambert decided to end the Grey Warden Mage independance once and for all. He seems the type.

For me it's hard to exclude The Warden no matter what. Look - he's THE hero of this world, united the nations, stopped The Blight. Then another great war starts and it includes all this PLUS - as some noticed - involves The Grey Wardens. Does it really make sense to exclude the main character of the drama just to say: "hey, we've got new protagonist!"? For me it doesn't. Cant believe a hero of his scale wouldnt get involved in a way.IanPolaris wrote...
Especially if the Warden romanced Morrigan and went through the Elluvian with her. Kind of hard in that case to exclude the Warden, but not all Wardens did this (in fact I expect only a minority did).lecho_himself wrote...The trailer looked good but considering what I've seen, this whole epic war concept, I don't really see how can BioWare do this NOT involving PCs from previous parts. Particulary The Warden.

He's the top dog of Dragon Age universe. The same league as Flemeth, Morrigan, Arishok, a league above Cassanda and Varric. Not including him "because" or giving him a fringe role seems so forced.
Also doing the "gather the allies and win a war" again, in the same universe, but only with another hero, would be pretty dull.

I personally hope it'll be more like "Choose a faction and fight the others" kind of deal.

I'd like to point out that in engine trailer doesn't mean much unless it's rendered real time, otherwise it's just like the bullshots we see all the time already and not representative of how the game will really look like. We did however get a pretty good look at the art direction of the game and it seems like a much toned down DA:2 art style, which imho is a move in the right direction.
It certainly looks like they've mixed up the art from both DA:O and DA2 in there. I kinda like it aswell.
EDIT: Though they still haven't shown us any elves, so I'm wondering if perhaps they're not ready to show us their new apearance?

Haha, I just noticed that there is a copy of Hard in Hightown II on the far left of the table where the Seekers are planning the war.
Aww yeah.

Edit: Just rewatching the trailer again and Morrigan is saying "WIll you stand against it, or leave this end to its bitter end" Emphasis on the "You" as it cuts to person at the end.

Putting "actual game footage" to something that may well not be inside the game once it ships is very misleading.

"Actual in game pre-encoded bink video." I'd love it if they ditch those for real time rendering though.Mykel54 wrote...
Why does it say "actual game footage"? isn´t this a cgi trailer? I mean, this looks nothing like a ingame cinematic, and it has no gameplay at all, therefore it must be something like the sacred ashes trailer for DAO, or the hawke/arishok fight for DA2.
Putting "actual game footage" to something that may well not be inside the game once it ships is very misleading.
