Mike Laidlaw said this on Twitter:

"Okay, yes, my bad. We're not on every platform and thus may not, in fact, have you covered. But we are on everything previous DA games were."

DA:O was on Mac, so is this one on Mac as well? Or did Mike just forget there was a Mac version?

Yeah I'd like to know this too please. Waiting that long without a Mac version at the end of it would be awful.

I am almost crying with relief that I can play it on my 360.
Suppose I'll have to switch over to Playstation sometime in the future, because there's no way I'm getting an Xbox One, but at least I won't have to buy a PS3 and replay DAO and DA2 several times just to import to PS4. I can just stick with my precious babeh for now.
PCs are too complex for me.

Big thank you to Bioware.  <3

I never get a new console in its first year, being able to play this on PS3 is a lifesaver.

Thanks, Bioware team. =) No matter what reason you chose to include the older consoles, I'm very grateful.

Any ideas if it's possible to import 360 save game data from DA1 and DA2 into Xbox One? Or is that impossible, and I'll need to stick with the 360 version?

theres no backwards compatibility and the only thing that's transferred over is ur gamertag, achievements and Gamerscore. so no, u cant import ur DA:O and DA:2 saves to the xbox one

agreed, computer is old enough that it struggles with DA2, will definetly need a better graphics card (plenty of spare RAM and memory thankfully)

I think they actually mentioned that there would be a way to import saves between generations, they just haven't elaborated on it yet.

To everyone - Bioware (from what I've read of a recent interview with Aaron Flynn) has given no official comment on import saves. From my own perspective, it sounds like they're in the process of figuring it out. I believe they want - according to Flynn - to allow the player not to feel as though all the time they invested in dao and da2 to be a waste.

And yeah - maybe this thread does need a sticky. Platforms = number one concern.

A 360 to PS4 import feature would be nice. There will probably be a decent amount of 360 gamers picking up the PS4 this round.

Count me as one of them. I was going to assume there would be a quizz or something so you could tell the ps4 game what happened in your last 360 games. Like, who did The Warden "date" and who eneded up on the throne, did you make the dark deal with Morrigan? Who did Hawke date? Templars or Mages?

That sort of thing.

Otherwise, I'll just be picking it up on 360. So glad the current gen will be included, takes all the concern out.

Awesome. How is Bioware ever going to improve anything in their games when they just keep releasing them on inferior extremely outdated platforms and have to cut corners everywhere thanks to the severe hardware limitations?

The spark of hope I had for DAI just got extinguished.

Look at Thief 4, the developers are not ****** like BW, Eidos have the balls to carry their franchise to the next generation to take advantage of the hardware. Since DAO Bioware has turned into one of the most uninnovative game developers on the market.

Considering the original release date was late 2013, and Bioware had previously emphasized the scalability of the Frostbite 3 engine, and that the VAST majority of recently announced games have been advertised as cross-generation, I can't honestly believe anyone is surprised or dismayed that DA3 will be a cross-generation title.

The people who are complaining must be seriously self-entitled whiners. "I can't enjoy a game unless it's exclusive to people like me, who have the money to immediatly blow on the first iteration of a new-generation console."

Nevermind the fact that both consoles cost upwards of $500, and only come with one controller. Or the fact that here, in Australia, the current place-holder price for next-gen games on either console is $118, nearly a fifth of the price of the new consoles.

So for a PS4, an extra controller (in case you were planning on playing games friends or family) and let's say two games, just to start off, you're looking at an immediate initial investment of nearly $900 in Australia. That's not a trivial sum for males 15-30, which is (let's be honest) the audience that the gaming industry is largely aimed at.

I can't say for others, but I will definitely be waiting some time before purchasing a next-gen console. Not because I can't afford it (I can), but because it's a bad deal. I'll wait until retailers are offering a decent bundle package, or failing that, the inevitable release of a smaller, cheaper model with more memory.

And potenially less bugs also, considering Xboxs last "red circle"

Well, it's good that they'll support both "old" and "new" consoles.
I hope the difference between the 2 will be great, though, so that players with the new console(s) and those on PC can enjoy a greater quality in graphics and sound (the Xbox 360 is limited compared to PS3 in the sound department, something that disappointed me a bit).

Inferiority complex. Lovely.

Maybe they're PC gamers who are sick and tired to play video games that were designed to run on glorified calculators? The PS4 and the XBOX one are much better hardware-wise.

In my opinion those who cheer for DAI being current gen are backwards nostalgics who cant deal with the fact that their system has been outdated for SEVERAL YEARS and brought the whole gaming industry to halt in terms of innovations and improvements.

Now after almost a decade a new gen system arrives and they still hold on their old systems. What would you call that?

If you've ever wondered why PC gamers get a reputation for being elitist jerks, it's because they spout crap like this.

Pffffffffffffft.

I don't consider "prettier and faster" to be "innovations" worth wetting my pants over. I've yet to see a single game, even one that is exclusive to new consoles, offer anything slightly new in terms of actual gameplay.

Fiscally sound.

The first iteration of any console is a complete crapshoot, and their respective libraries of exclusives are going to be tiny, and won't be taking full advantage of the console's power anyway. As I already stated in my previous post, most of the recently announced games are cross-generation, and several are only going to be on current consoles.

You can look at a comprehensive list of upcoming titles and the respective consoles they'll be released on here: au.ign.com/wikis/e3/Big_Games_at_E3_2013.

You....didn't read the two posts before yours did you?

Cross generational is awesome because of saved game imports which is a BIG part of this series. It doesn't effect you, so your crying about the loss of polygons?

Dude, it takes game developers years to get the full use out of the console's abilities. Just look at the difference between Oblivion and Skyrim, yet they were released on the same console. New release games on a next gen console aren't going to look as awesome as they potentially will in say five to seven years.

Also, just because a game is released on both generations doesn't mean the next gen game will be held back. They just re-released Okami in HD for newer generation consoles, being that it originally was released on a PS2. They can (and likely will) make different versions for different consoles.

Sorry, I'm not trying to pick on you per say - it's just that I keep hearing this lame brain argument over and over...

Once a new system comes out - they do not just stop making games for the older systems. There's overlap. There always has been. There always will be. This is nothing new. It has never killed the progression for the new system in the past, and it won't do it now. These are ridiculously overblown concerns.

Oh and the people who want it for current gen aren't backwards nostalgics - they're people who can't afford a next gen system until it has been on the market for several years. Welcome to the world of a sh*tty economy, job displacement (look at what EA did to Bioware employees...), high energy costs, poor housing market, high unemployment, overpriced college tuition, skyrocketing health insurance premiums, more taxes for more bullsh*t, and so much else...

Get used to it. The market has to cater to the majority and the majority is not going to throw 400-500 dollars down on a new video game system in the next year or so. Nope.

I think people will be wondering if there's a Mac OS X version as well, since I think the other two games were on that platform.
