Adrian... Well, Adrian would try to summon demons if she thought it would help.

Adrian will be the Kai Leng to Fiona's TIM.

So much win.

We all know what happened to Kai Leng and TIM

Unfortunately a lot of mage supporters have some serious issues. So expressing any support of templars anywhere is going to cause them to come out of the woodwork.

Because pro-templar fans never participate in threads intended for pro-mage or pro-elven fans, or threads supporting the option to be atheist in Andrastian society. {{sarcasm}}

In my experience, the pro-mage fans usually show up in pro-templar threads first.

Given the presence of pro-templar players in pro-mage, pro-elven, and pro-atheist threads that were made not too long ago, that's not my experience.

Hm, true. I suppose both sides are humans who like to argue about video games. Though many of those threads weren't labeled as support threads, for whatever that's worth.

I've been meaning to side with the templars, I've played DA:O so many times, but DA2, just twice. Funny enough, any mage character I create has been pro-templar. Not even circle to the core, either :P Maybe my next mage Hawke will be pro-templar.

I didn't really agree with the templars at first, but when I started REALLY looking and thinking. Yeah, they're needed. But mages are needed, too. There are bads on both sides.

That... Sounds disturbingly like Xilizhra whenever she's saying she'd be chums with Adrian and Fiona.

Fiona will be an excellent leader, what are you on about? Adrian's volatility is potentially troublesome, but I still think she'd be useful, and her heart is in the right place.

Ya betraying a past lover and freind and framing them to start a war is "having your heart in the right place."

What's personal is frequently not the same as what's important.

They have their heart in the right place just like Cerberus did. Can't
wait to slaughter all the possessed mages as Fiona claims that control
over demons is the only way to save mankind.

There are several levels on which your analogy fails to work, but more importantly, there are numerous metagame reasons as to why it almost certainly could never happen.

Yeah but they don't call me a member of a certain political party because I support one fictional group of people over the other.

That's silly. We're not saying that you are, we're saying that they are. You don't have any IRL mages to oppress.

It's not like I was the first one to make the comparison, it was Bioware itself. And now with the Circles all gone, and the likelihood that the templars are now just going for killing every mage they can catch, it seems as though there may no longer be any meaningful lines between them.

Speaking of which, how would that affect anyone's support, if the templar position in the war was "permanent universal Annulment?"

I would be for balance and negotiation, even if I have to force both sides.

But then, I was never really pro-templar. I'm just not pro-Mage or pro-Anders either. The forums do me a good job in seeing Templars in a more sympathetic light, though.

For the purposes of this hypothetical, say there is none. The Order is disbanded and rendered powerless, or all mages are killed.

I'll go with all Mages killed on that one, despite having the most fun playing a Blood Mage/Arcane Warrior/Battle Mage.

I would never advocate killing all mages, but doing so wouldn't solve anything anyway.

Well, I assume the way the scenario was being posed, the point was that it would be a constant reinforcement kinda deal, rather than a one shot solution.

Edit: But then, if it ever got to the point where we did have enough control to kill any/all Mages when we choose, it would probably be doable that the Circles could be reinstated. Or some other, hopefully better system.

And what point is that? That people who want the option to create a better system then the old one and see magic is dangerous will pick the templars thus they are evil?

I hope there are reasons to support and oppose both in Inquisition.

The last thing I'd like to see is a clear division between good guys and bad guys.

This would result in the systematic slaughter of children.
Do not want.
