I don't know whether it's the new engine or whether it's just because it was a cinematic trailer, but I can't tell if they are the people they are.. Was that Varric? I don't think I would've picked Morrigan either if she wasn't narrating it.

That crossbow was almost certainly Bianca and I'd recognize that chin anywhere, so it was definitely Varric. As for Morrigan she looks as I'd probably expect after nearly ten or more years have passed, honestly.

I'm not sure if that was Varric, but it was definately his stuff someone was wearing. Maybe Varric Jr. who's embarassed about his lack of chest hair.

How can you not see varric and morrigan in those characters? sure they look a little bit different because of the new engine but they are quite close to their looks in da:o/da2.

Both Cassandra and Morrigan suddenly have a Lantern Jaw of Justice. It looks uncanny, if you ask me.

I'll believe that when I play the game, or at least see in-game footage. Same thing happened with swtor.

Sten, what the Quanari? Sten never had horns... But that Quanari did have a similiar nose...

Nope. Sten has no horns. Did that Kossith have horns, I forgot.

Varric looks identical, he's just lost a lot of weight. Look at the 0:22 mark in the trailer.

Morrigan now has a younger version of claudia blacks face instead of Victoria Johnsson's. Thats why she looks so different.

I don't think they had the present design for the Qunari during origins. I think the design with horns came during DA2. I thought it was Sten now as an Arishok.

I'm happy with how Varric looked in the trailer, Ok with Morrigan's look (given it's been 10 yours or so), not to happy with Cassandra's look (was hoping for the long hair & more of a femanin look like something between Dawn of the Seeker & DA2).

but they still have a year till it's released so those faces may change to ones we can more recoginze

I thought so. Morrigan could do with a little more "beautification". I liked how she looked in Origins much more. I like her new hair though!
