No question that was Varric with Bianca. And definitely Morrigan, though I don't care for the new outfit as much. ;)

They were always intended to have horns, but for some reason or other, they decided not to create horned heads for Origins.

Probably helmets and clipping.

Why, Varric had a red scarf round his neck, can't say I'm surprised he finally gave in to Hawke's charms.

Morrigan blew me away. She even had those feathers at her shoulder, despite the dress. And those moles could be artificial. Common practice to add moles in that time I should think. And that's game-footage for you, not CGI. One should keep in mind all those projected hopes that were crushed when there was actually something presented.
I'm just glad they didn't pull a Zevran on the both of them.

Oh come on people, it was pretty obviously Morrigan, Varric, and yes, even Cassandra. Sure they look a bit different with the new engine (and maybe passage of time in Varric and Cassandra's case, depending on how long after the conclusion of DA2 this game occurs, and at least 7-10 years for Morrigan--since Witch Hunt occurs about 7 years before the end of DA2).

Otherwise there are either a great many forum members here like this guy or more likely they're just complaining as they're apt to do. I've seen a fair amount of forums in my day, but this one takes the cake in terms of complainers. Granted that's sometimes with good reason (ME3's ending), but too often its stuff like this thread. Seriously?

I think that was the excuse for Sten, but there were a lot of other qunari that could have been horned, so I've always imagined there was some technical issue behind it or that it was just a matter of zots.

Honestly, I wish they had just retconned it for DA2. I can live with the "special" qunari, but it's a cheap justification for something that was purely a gameplay or technical limitation.

How can people seriously be like this? I could tell instantly, and I do mean instantly, that it was varric, cassandra, and morrigan.

I had to watch the trailer several times before I could process anything other than: "THAT'S VAAAAAARRRIC!!!!!!!! Varricvarricvarricvarricvarricvarricvarric!" Once I got past that, I was just worried that he was showing us the death of Isabela since they've been hanging out together ever since Kirkwall. (Or so the comics lead me to believe at any rate.) As for the new art and character design- it's too early for me to form a real opinion, but I like what I saw in the trailer. It felt a bit JRPGish and unreal when they showed the cut of the dragon launching off the tower, but that's probably just because the clip was out of context. I'm pretty excited, all in all!

I wonder if we can call Morrigan, "the chin" her chin is enormous.

She could be the new Crimson Chin. :P

Speaking of chin, I'm hoping to see Aveline again.

Or Isabela's "man jaw" which she never ended up having i might add.

People actually had some trouble recognizing Varric? That's hilarious. Bianca should have given it away..

I don't love Morrigan. But I love that she's back.

And Varric is rad.

I'm gonna be bummed if Morrigan as the narrator is done the same way Flemeth as the narrator for DA 2 was done.

ie: Morrigan ends up hardly in the game at all. :( Bioware proved what a tease they can be with DA 2 and Flemeth.

It's all guesswork. My guess is that they thought they could somehow make horns work for Sten, and by the time they realized they couldn't it was too late to record and QA dialogue branches about why he doesn't have horns,

Give her a break dude, it's been a long 7-10+ years, lol. She isn't a young thing anymore.

It is kinda hard to recognize Varric without the scruff and Morrigan without her scowling.

Morrigan was a bit of a surprise. Seeing her, I mean, not that she's in it. The more I watch it, the more I like what they've done. And Varric~ I love how he looks now. Not that he didn't look awesome before but I've gotten used to his comic look and highly approve despite the lack of chest hair.

It's in there. Just waiting to be unleashed. It's probably the key to closing the veil. Someone make this happen. xD

So long as they are still the awesome characters we feel in love with (all dat snark) I'll be happy no matter what.
