Am I still fashionably late to the party? No? Oh well...
So a long, long time ago I decided that I should brush up on my Javascript and what better way to do that than to make a new, better Mass Effect character builder. Eventually, I set my controller down and decided to start typing and as expected, entering in data for everything sucked and I stopped. With last week's N7HQ update however, I decided to finish it up. Since that wasn't challenging enough though, I then decided to pick a hosting service that wasn't so great for this particular project and see if I could manage to get it working again. After some JS tweaks and a ton of CSS fixes (I didn't expect their styles to be *that* bad!) here it is:
A new ME3 Character Builder.
That is REALLY awesome. Only suggestion is to update the properties of weapons which the weight applying mods don't affect so that the cooldowns are properly displayed. I also kind of dig how Narida's class builder displays modified weapon damage output (vs health/shields/barriers/armor). And one that that would be nice is if you worked the Ammo consumables into the damage equation ...
Anyway, great work, and I will definitely be using this!

- Fixed unhandled exception caused by mods being applied to incorrect weapon types. Reported by @Grinch57.
This is a known issue, after getting all those other wierd powers working I just knew Sabotage was going to rain on my parade. I tentitively left it as a regular +50% melee damage bonus until it can be properly fixed.Shampoohorn wrote...
Nice job. Really amazing.
FYI, the melee boost from 50% melee bonuses from Sabotage Tech Vulnerability and the Shotgun OmniBlade are multiplicative with every other bonus. QFI maxed melee should top out at 6007.5 if you calculate it right -- it's currently well below that for some reason. See sig thread for more details.

Mouseover the damage number and you'll get a damage breakdown.
As for the weight thing, let's just say that there is a long paragraph in the code about the various ME3 bugs affecting it.

10000/10 for effort, and godliness!

Also, activating powers that effect damage (like tac cloak or hunter mode) doesn't seem to do anything, but I guess that's just a bug.
So, all in all a great effort on your part and definitely a better design than Narida's class builder, but in the end too little information for my taste.

Also, thank you DullahansXMark for letting DragonRacer know about this wonderful piece of awesomesauce, so that others will find it, long after this thread fades from the front pages.

Can you link me your build? The Talon Merc is one of those special case kits.Brad_8333 wrote...
Great job, just some quick feedback though. I'm only shown to have grenades as a Talon. When experience shows me that I should have 7 with my build? Could you look into it pretty please. I love the look and feel, I just feeling like I'm going crazy though!

As mentioned above, you can mouseover the damage number for a breakdown (or anything with a dotted underline for that matter).Mondhase wrote...
This is definitely a very stylish
looking character builder with a great interface and really easy
handling. If I want to show someone a particular build it's definitely a
great option to use, but generally I find Narida's builder to be much
much more useful. Especially the way it displays the damage to different
enemy protection (shield, barriers, armor) is probably one of the most
useful things out there, and (even though it does make the builder much
more complicated) I love how it shows the exact numbers of each
evolution.
Also, activating powers that effect damage (like tac
cloak or hunter mode) doesn't seem to do anything, but I guess that's
just a bug.

Activatable powers also only apply their effects if an appropriate rank is selected. If you think something isn't working, I'll need a link to the build and your browser version to try and see what's up.

And I found all the other, non-directly displayed info by hovering over things (just about everything). Great work

AWESOME! Also really cool that you have headshot modifiers, and adding in debuff damage (e.g. Proximity Mine) is a big winner, also.
Really amazing piece of work.

The only things that seem to be missing are the factoring in of different damage of abilities on shields, armor, and barriers, and things like Carnage 6 being input incorrectly; it should be 50%, not 20%
