Great job ! A few things though :

  • it's a bit slow to choose a character that is at the end of the list (have to click a lot to get there). I would suggest either expanding the list to its maximum or use a scrollbar.
  • the Javelin's capacity is always 13 (my Jav's at VIII and its capacity is 22).
  • now that there probably won't be anymore patch, maybe you could take into account the most famous bugs (e.g. new mods not applying weight penalty on vanilla weapons). Add a small graphical hint if you want to alert the player of the bug.
  • specify when a bonus is additive or multiplicative (e.g. Geth weapons on Geth characters with Network AI)
  • ammo bonuses would be great :)

Thanks anyway ! :)

The kit selector's width dynamically adjusts to the window size. Dunno if that helps you or not.

Not really ; after investigation, I found out a few culprits in the CSS :

#content-inner .stack-width {    width: 1006px;}
.stack-width {    width: 960px;}
These two will limit the width statically. When I remove them (using Firebug), the box expands just fine.

SeasonedTurtle wrote...

As for specifying +/* bonuses... well, as you can see there's like 1239873249 requests for ammo so that would probably come first.

Sure, thanks anyway :)

VERY impressive OP. I couldn't get it to load on my Tablet.

But I just checked it on my laptop, excellent.

OP, mucking around a bit ... maybe this has already been identified, with the thread at 9 pages and counting, I have lost track, but on the Turian Ghost, Armiger Legion evo 6 looks like it is reversed. I get faster CD with damage/stability and slower CD with reduced weapon weight. I don't know if this is limited to just one kit or has been reported.

I wonder if your really great efforts are starting to feel like a headache with all of us "supa geniuses" chiming in with every discrepancy. I hope not, what you've done is great and I don't want this to seem like a complaint, more like a beta tester who is trying to help you perfect your product.  Edit add:  looks like you deployed the mod bug fix, cool.

Refresh the page. I've been noting some wierd caching behavior lately, especially for Chrome users. Probably something to do with this 2 year old bug.

I'm using FireFox 21.0 (most current). Initially it looked like it worked properly with the default weapon and no mods, but when I selected Lancer X, with EB+EM, the CD times are reversed. So maybe ... the issue is somehow tied to mod and/or weapon selections. I didn't play with it beyond that, so sorry, not being very good at ferreting out when the discrepancy kicks in ... may take a look at it later.  Refreshing the page didn't help.

This is great. Thanks. Now we just need to replace all the nardia links in all the guides with this. Also this loads soooooo much faster than n7hq. 10/10

Build links don't save the state of toggle-able powers (on-off) ... Powers are always off when opening a build link :( ..

Am I still fashionably late to the party? No? Oh well...

So a long, long time ago I decided that I should brush up on my Javascript and what better way to do that than to make a new, better Mass Effect character builder. Eventually, I set my controller down and decided to start typing and as expected, entering in data for everything sucked and I stopped. With last week's N7HQ update however, I decided to finish it up. Since that wasn't challenging enough though, I then decided to pick a hosting service that wasn't so great for this particular project and see if I could manage to get it working again. After some JS tweaks and a ton of CSS fixes (I didn't expect their styles to be *that* bad!) here it is:

A new ME3 Character Builder.

very nice. thank you :)

(damn - that's a lot of JS libraries)

I only wrote the files ending in *.txt - the rest is crap Drupal Gardens uses (and I don't have control over it).

excellent job! Really awesome!
Also, smash rank 4 evolution electrical damage is multiplicative.

I could have sworn that I didn't even implement that rank. It suffers from a similar problem to Sabotage 6B...

Hmmmm.... something's not working as intended. Tried doing my first char and comparing the passives:

Try
switching the various Vorcha Res specs, you'll see that carnage's
cooldown is actually HIGHER when you select "weapon weight is reduced in
...%".

Looks like I used a + instead of a - somewhere...

The Volus training seems to be bugged too... I can't quite workout what exactly the problem is, but in this build, you can see that changing the last training spec does not reduce the power cooldowns (and I doubt very much reegar is at 200% weight)...

The following changes are now live:
  • Fixed an issue with power ranks that reduce weight from all weapons. Reported by @FMultimedia.
  • The bonus from Power Efficiency Modules is no longer missing in tooltips.

This builder is very impressive, thank you for making and sharing it.

By the way, when the Batarian Gauntlet is equipped (e.g. by an asari), the melee-damage tool tip does not seem to calculate any bonus damage to certain defenses.

That is correct. The Batarian Guantlet does not inherit defense multipliers [source].

Oh that looks very nice :)

It's actually a bit weird seeing lots of images as opposed to just text and figures

This must've taken you ages to do?! Pat on the back for you

-------------------------------------

Er, please don't take this the wrong way but on closer inspection, I see you don't quite have the same level of detail for damage values, in particular the bonuses against different defence types...

Is this something you might implement/alter in the future?

It's just that I'm a numbers person and so that's a big deciding factor for me =]

Edit: Second half of post retracted. Wasn't aware of all the features at time of posting.

It appears you did not inspect "close" enough  ... plenty of numbers and overall quite a bit more accurate than narida's ...
