If...IF (note the emphasis on the IF)...they do an armor system like they were saying they were considering (again, IF) and Morrigan is a companion (again, IF)...it's fun to think how her iconic look would be preserved with different robes and such.

I found the new graphics a bit weird but I think I am slowly getting used to them.

As for morrigan she just looks a bit scarier and a bit more like Flemeth

Didn't like Morrigan's necklace though ... kept thinking popsicle sticks. Like something that would come from an issue of Martha Stewart's Crafts for Old God Kids.

This thread has hit 19 pages already yet Varic, who I got the impression was considered by BSN as the best companion in DA2 gets a new look as well. Yet the thread for discussing that is on the 2nd page of this forum and has only 4 pages to it...

I don't hate it like everyone else seems to but it is a little out of character at least from what we know of Morrigan.

I would be absolutely shocked if she was a companion again. My feeling is that the chances of this happening are next to zero. (I'm perfectly fine with this).
I doubt she will have much screen time at all in game.  Her purpose in the trailer is to amp up DAO fans who love her.
I think her role will be similar to that of Flemeth in DA2. Only a few minutes of screentime, perhaps at the very end/climax of the story.
The fan rage would be epic, but oh well. *shrugs*

That's a good question. In addition to the Darkspawn retcon, I hated the Elven retconn in DA2 so I am very curious to see what Bioware does with the elves for DA3.

I really hope we get some more information fairly soon on that, and some actual information on gameplay etc too.

But overall I'm feeling optimistic again after feeling depressed about the future of DA for quite a while now. That's a pretty great change from my perspective

His point might have validity in the grand scheme of things but not in response to my comment which was referring to the trailer they released and the comments relating to it. The representation of female to male characters in the trailer was highly weighed towards female characters in the trailer so it is only natural that there would be a higher proportion of discussions relating to female characters from it.

As for Morrigan comments a lot of people are focusing on the jawline and lips because it does look very odd when in movement due to either model or rendering I assume. It is not just a preference issue, it seems fine when mouth is shut, the proportions look about right but when in movement it looks distorted.

I actually dissliked his new look allot more than Morrigans but I find Morrigans character more interesting. 

Plus I think i need to gt used to the new engine everyone looked weird to me the first time i saw the trailer.

I admit I never expected this to go past 5 pages or so. I'd say its more attributed to her popularity and the myths surrounding her and her mother. Everyone is interested in one of those whether you like her or not.

Cassandra, who from what I'v seen in the "who do you want for companions threads", practically everyone wants her as a companion. So she's popular. She also doesn't have a long thread about her, like Varric.

I don't think Gaider is referring to all criticism of character's appearances over time. I think he's referencing the pattern of criticism leveled at female characters in particular. I've only been on here since midway to Origins' release, but I can see it to. The male characters are criticized, but it always seems like the ladies are under the Eye of Sauron far more.

1.  Bioware gives it's scantily clad ladies more prominence.  If the trailer had climaxed with Varric gurning out at us, we'd probably see more comments on him

2.  There's a natural emphasis on people who are potential LIs, and even more on past LIs - I remember lots of women talking about Cullen, complaining about Alistair and Zevran being hit with the ugly stick.  And there's more straight men than women and gay men on the board.  Is that really misogyny? 

3.  Does this justify slathering a quite major slur on peoples character rather indiscriminately over a thread that seems like it was rather polite and well behaved up until that point?

It says actual in-game footage. I'm abit erected honestly. Love what i'm seeing IF that's in-game. The Qunari looks really bad arse now. And I saw Cassandra there. Looks awesome as well.

One thing i wanted to point out is that Morrigan looks awfully ugly. I love her new appearance, dress and etc. But what happened to her mouth and jaw?

Seems that she could swallow a whole toad by that mouth itself. Ugh. I sincerely hope they rework her pointy nose (it looks downright like and old hag) as well as that big jaws and mouth. Eew.

Insofar as gossiping about an individual's appearance can be considered polite.

When that character is a fictional videogame one made up of polygons it does not have to be as polite. You will not hurt her feelings if say the model looks awkard and distorted or even out of proporation.
