Soooo let me get this straight.
- Fans are allowed to throw **** at developers because it's "good criticism".
- Dev can't return fire because it will be "disrespectful and unprofessional".

Did I miss anything?

There wasn't much being thrown until Mr Gaider decided to open fire.

They can return fire as far as I am concerned, but not at the wrong people for the wrong reasons.

Ok no offense, but from what I see, there are several types of people on the internet:
- The serious, constructive type. They are, sadly, rare.
- Trolls who put up bs, and throwing crap at anybody possible. Not so rare.
- Sarcastic people, who love to have fun. Sometime they can sound like total jerk (because they don't take things serious. It's the internet anyway, not some boardroom) but really, they aren't that bad. Quite common (and I love them :P)
- Complainers. No matter what the dev do, they complain. Ahhh They are everywhere.

So the way I see it is, no matter what you start, you will always have comments from all of those type. It's inevitable. So I would say, just chill and take thing less serious, it's better for your health. Am I the only one that sick of wall of text???

Is it complicated by the fact these are returning characters? Sure. Doesn't change what I said, insofar as "commentary on appearances are highly suspect" goes. Does that mean all opinions are therefore invalid, and anyone who says something negative about a female character is a raging mysoginist? Only on the internet.

Wait, you hate misogynists and it's great, but we are talking about changed appiarence of characters because of the change of enjne, right?

Now, please, tell me honestly, you _really_ do not see those oversized jaws? (Oversized compare to DAODA2 versions!) There are pictures to compare. Just say something like "to my eyes they look exactly the same" or "in game the lights are different, angles are different and _in game_ characters are very much the same as in previous games" - and we will know, developers see it this way.

The jaws really do seem to be a focus for lots of people.
I attribute Morrigan's jaw/cheeks widening to her being older. Cassandra always had a strong jaw.

If someone call me a misogynist because of reasons i can't really laugh about it, even worse if that someone is one of the developers of a game i have the intection to buy
No one was flaming, no one was insulting....probably that was the problem so Gaider arrived and started to be, with all due respect(that he din't show to us at all), a serious ass

If I am allowed to change archetype for awhile, I would like to say something serious. Mr. Gaider did properly went a tad to far but that's understandable. Every time he come to the forums he have to deal with us. We annoy the hell out of me and none on the hate and criticism (both constructive and not) are aimed towards me.

Morrigan and Varric both look very true to their previous models. I approve.

I love the look of Varric. He's the most recognisable of the three I think. I like the way his face looks.

I also like Morrigan. Her new dress is a great update of her old look with the necklace. Maybe her face could be tweaked to be a bit more oval but overall I like it.

But Cassandra looks very different imo. Maybe it's just the weird angle that makes her face look a bit off. I think it could be narrower with a different jawline. Her jaw in the trailer seems a bit big to me also, but like I said maybe its the angle.

Yep. I have a growing hunch that I might deserve one now myself. I also need to change phrase because words like
"good poking" and "deserve" takes my mind  to weird places.

Lol. I admit my mind did stray that direction to..

He may have a right to be somewhat embittered to parts of the community here. He should not however pay that bitterness back to every fan that happens to post something he disagrees with. Honestly, I find it a little depressing that any dev that comes here are on the densive the second they take a step on the BSN.

I tried to make a quick photoshop manip (Bigger version here) of a Cassandra that looked more like her DA2 counterpart while still being very recognizable from the one in the DA:I trailer.

Posted Image

Number one is of course DA2. Number two is the original Inquisition trailer look. Number three lastly is the somewhat morphed face I did in photoshop.

I think the end result is a fairly good compromise of DA2 Cassandra and the new one we got in the Inquisition trailer. I'm fairly certain the artists at Bioware will change Cassandra's look over this coming year, but I just wanted to make something that looked more like how I remember Cassandra.

Looks much better, good job. Amazing how a few minor tweaks can improve (or screw up) a face.  :o

Cassandras face in the trailer looked....odd, not natural, almost like there was a problem with the resolution resulting in stretched and somewhat slightly distorted facial features.

Everything he said was true. Some people are taking it as a personal attack. He wasn't attacking anyone.

Edit for change of mind:
I'm not condoning or condemning. Just saying I understand.

Out of everyone in the trailer Varric looked the most different. Its not a bad thing and I want them to tweak it a bit, but eh I can live with it. Cassandra's eyebrows seem pretty differen't, but her jawline really isn't much of a problem. She had a strong jaw before and the angle is what people are focusing on.

Morrigan is ugly. Has nothing to do with anything else. If Gaider is upset about those kind of comments that's too bad.

I would dissagree on Morrigans uglyness, but that is, as they put it, my goddamn problem.

Honestly, Cassandra is pretty nondescript for me in both her DA2 and DA3 variations. She looks fine though, I guess.

I think Morrigan looks wonderful and very true to how she looked in DAO. Varric looks pretty different to me, but in a good way.

No I know it wasn't a personal attack. It was more of a general "I hate this in the industry because of A, B & C and its generally your fault so we wont listen to anything you say."

But I digress, I'd rather leave this topic now. Allow people to just talk about the actual topic.

Honestly I thought Cassandra was not the best looking person in DA2 but it's the voice that got me. So Cass is still fine as are Varric and Morrigan. If Alistair if is messed up AGAIN though...c'mon BioWare watch the dismount no one cares if you can't/don't stick the landing.

I thought Varric looked the best out of them. Cassandra's eye brows seemed a bit weird but I felt that was more camera angle and expression issue. Morrigan is only one I think has a real issue for myself being the jaw and lips look odd but in a model, maybe rendering sense. Now I could be wrong maybe it was not model issue and just a lighting issue that made her lips seem distorted and jaw line different to me with mouth open and movement because when it's closed she seems good. I guess when more trailers of footage is shown will be able to see more clearly. I am very happy they got Claudia Black to do the VA for Morrigan.

Let's say for a moment she really was ugly. Not just to you, but to everyone (if that's possible).
Who cares? Why does she *have* to be gorgeous?
What if she was a 'plain Jane?'
They can make her look any way they want, you know.
She could have (should have) had some wrinkles due to her age. Perhaps that OGB many people are asking about could have 'wreaked havok' on her body.
Yet she still looks youthful and beautiful. I am personally fine with the way she looks.

I could tell who each was easily and I like morrigans better because she doesn't look like she has never seen the sun. cassandra looks more like you would in battle where she isn't wearing make up. I do wish they would change her hair though. varric was a little hard to tell
