Those posts were silly, and were rightfully shunned by all.
But doesn't discount David's opinion either. Especially, since you seem to agree ("as there is in all threads"), even if you may disagree with the level of prevalence.
Also, please take note the specifics of the post I was replying to, as it provides context for why I stated my post.
Unfortunately one cannot let a few bad apples be the benchmark for how one judges the rest and In the end (negative) broad generalisations are rarely positive for discussion, they end up bunching many good people in with the bad. Taking part in this thread, discussing the appearance of female and/or male characters does not make one a misogynist or misandrist (not sure if thats the actual word). Which is why I said such generalisations and insinuation are not appreciated earlier.
I even agree that a developer has the right to retort to aggressive and derogatory comments aimed at them but the one in which he replied to aka mine was neither of those things so the contempt, passive aggressive sarcasm I felt was not justified. I also agree the developer should not pander to every fans request and create the content they want to create, in fact was one of the most vocal defenders of such idiologies on the ME3 forums.
However I feel it is a valid point of discussion to mention how when developing games that have large amount of content relating to love interests, romance and relationships, a carrying across of past characters and companions between titles plus a higher representation of female characters in the trailer compared to males...that it is valid avenue of discussion to talk about appearance and due to higher quantity of female characters shown, they would (in my mind) have higher level of responses about them from the trailer.
It is also I feel a situation encouraged by the sort of content you create as a studio even though my problem with Morrigan (I think) is a technical issue with model and/or rendering/lighting, I am pretty sure that the first thought in most (not all) people's minds when come into this thread to discuss what did not like about any characters appearance is not "Okay, if they do this or that I would totally bang her/him." .
For most it is a perceived difference between past and present character portrayals or what is percieved to be misalignment or disproportionate physical trait to other facial features on the character. While some will simply desire a more attractive character whether thats male or female, I simply do not feel it is fair to imply that merely taking part in such a discussion should tarnish people with a stigmatization from a developers past experiences discussing such topics with others not present or lump them in with the bad apples from the past.
Sorry, might have come across as a rant which was not intended and is not relating in any way to my perception of yourself as a person or how you express yourself in your own posts.
