Maybe there really is something weird going on with Morrigan's covered eye?

Also, the pic of new Morri that is being reposted the most is when she is talking, when she has her mouth closed the pouty lips/cheeks are nowhere near as pronounced.

I noticed it the instant her face came into focus. Before she was talking.

My complain twards new Morrigan, if any at the time, would be the breasts - placed too low on the chest. But I dont remember the last time when I saw brests done right in a videogame.
Face... well, generally you can divide a human face from hair line to jaw line into 3 equal parts (hairline->lowest point of the nose->nosetip->jawline), check if Morrigan fits the standard :)

If one were to go by forum posters commenting on a character's initial reveal, Morrigan in DAO was beyond hideous. I recall a number of long topics over how giant her jaw was, how misshapen her lips were, how her shoulders were too wide and her body badly animated. Also, Merrill had enormous breasts, Isabela an impossibly masculine jaw and Leliana giant fish-lips which were impossible to look past.

Possibly people just like dissecting the appearance of female characters. I'm not sure. Maybe it's just something you get used to, or will never like simply because it's different. I suppose you'll find out eventually.

Well for the record, Merrill really did have weird breasts. :P

Seriously, though, I'm less concerned about whether a character we've seen before looks "improved" than I am that they look like themselves. Puff up that bottom lip back to her usual volume and my guess is she'll be spot-on. ^_^

In the case of Varric, he doesn't look quite himself either but is very attractive. I'm less concerned about him than Morrigan, though, because she is *so close* to being perfectly accurate to her original model. The new Cassandra looks awesome and almost has more Morrigan-like lips than Morrigan does.

For Morrigan her mouth/jaw movements are bothersome to me. But the biggie is the eyebrows!! People's eyebrows just don't change from straight-no arch to extreme arched/winged like that. I think it makes her look kind of off.
Loved Varric. He looked like the "real" person the cartoonish DA2 character was based off. Cassandra was okayish.

She could have tweezed and shaped them.

Not so sure about blockhead but Varric and Morrigan were pretty nice, like how Morrigan is getting a more matronly look as shes a fair bit older now.

Personally I prefer the original looks, although Varric's new look isn't too much of a change.

New Morrigan look isn't nearly as good as DAO. Don't have DA2 and am not getting so....

It doesn't matter anyway. I think DAO is the complete package, and with the way things are going, I don't really see a need to go beyond that.

To be honest, we're kinda silly if we spend time trying to come up with in-universe reasons for appearance changes(tweezed eyebrows, grew something on her face, etc etc).

But seriously, those beauty marks on Morrigan's face are grabbing attention and its weird that I'm looking at them and not her incredibly striking eyes. They contrast.

I could just imagine my Warden being two inches from her face just STARING at them.

Morrigan-"What? They're drawn on!"

Are they so bad that you didn't notice she seems to be wearing Leliana's suggested outfit?

I don't like them, but I expect that they will look drastically different once the game is finished, so I am not bothered by the graphics in the trailer.

The first thing I said about Morrigan was that I loved her outfit, :P

But I'm the kind of guy who keeps eye level, so thats why I'm mentioning the face. I remember when I took art classes in middle school my instructor would teach us that there are ways to manipulate how someone views your art- by making certain points draw their attention, you can almost guide the eyes of an onlooker in different directions, have them swiveling if you want them to.

Hence why I bring up the beauty marks. They make me look at them, but then there's nothing really that they lead to. I have to "search" for something striking in a way, which would be her eyes, and I only know that because its Morrigan.

Once I look at her eyes though, there's sort of a slow view to her eyeshadow, then a fast sort of overlook to her whole face. That I like.

I just feel like the beauty marks are adding an odd unnecessary step to the beginning of that. And if I didn't see them first and noticed something else, they'd be there in the background teasing my eyes to look at them, when there's a good visual art system already in place through Morrigan's eyes and eye make up.

*shrugs* I got a C in that class.

On the subject of Morrigan's outfit, I dig it.

It DOES remind me of the one Leliana suggested, which I brought up in an older thread when I showed this fanart of Morrigan that someone made.

My feeling on the beauty marks is pretty simple, people sometimes get such blemishes as they age, works for me...

I prefer Dragon Age 2's visual style over Inquisition's. DA characters lost their uniqueness, they look like someone from Witcher 2.

Needless to say, I'll draw conclusions from the final product, not the teaser.

I didn't mind Morrigan's hair at first.. Now I'm kinda wishing her other eye wasn't covered. She conveyed a lot of emotion through those eyes in Origins, loved that about her.

Eh, maybe I shall get used to it.

@LPPrince  I never got why she had a sword in those concepts haha. Real samurai look. Did oddly help my head-canon though... since the sword looks similar to one of my Wardens

Agreed. I love her eyes. I want to see them. I hope they will tweak her hair. :)
