I like it, I like it more than the picture rolled out from DA2 wich was terrible and glad she didn't appeared in that game, also, I like and most importantly that is Claudia Black voicing Morrigan again because I heard rumors that she wasn't interested and Claudia does gives that sort of essence of how Morrigan is.

I reckon it has passed some years now so I'm okay that Morrigan doesn't look exactly the same way as in Origins besides being done in a new engine but she still looks quite good to me...as for her outfit...bare shoulders and cleavage? I just can't complain about that and Morrigan does like to look sexy even with the same necklace piece and the feathers.

It's the first trailer so there's a lot, a lot to see in the future but for a first impression I approve of it.

The funny thing with this is how they took the one character with an "iconic" outfit from Origins and ditched it for a rather generic looking noblewoman dress with hoop skirt. Yet you look at Varric or Cassandra and they're pretty much dressed the same as DA2.

I would argue Morrigan and Flemeth are so iconic to the setting they transcend a defined style. Those two clearly have a larger role in the story than Varric, Cassandra, or either of the two previous protagonists. It's honestly puzzling to me that there is so much discussion over her looks considering her return alone should light "**** just got real" signal fires.

The moles look kind of strange since she hadn't them in Origins and in the Sacred Ashes :/

Anyway, Warden Amell would still like to have another few kids with her, so i'm good

I think she looks off. It's the mouth, just like in the DAO trailer.. But... she'll most likely end up looking nothing like that in-game. Shame she hasn't really changed her hair in 10(?) years. =D

I messed with the jawline, lips, and got rid of the moles.

Eh, her looks and the look of everything in the trailer is the only thing to discuss with any certainty right now.

Storywise we have nothing beyond the fact that its yet another "Save the world from an ancient evil" plot line, in this case some brouhaha with the Fade opening up and letting demons into Thedas, Ghostbusters 2 style.

Watching the trailer again, my biggest gripe is her hair. Specifically the whole "covering half of my face" style. Just reminds me of goofy Resident Evil Revelations idiocy with Rachel and her hair covering her face.

And the mouth animation. Maybe that's what turned me off to the character model so much but the mouth movement is unnatural as all hell and its really bad looking in a wholly Uncanny Valley way. Its like once she starts moving her mouth to talk, her mouth literally starts shifting up, down and all around. Its freaky.

Hope they can clean up these character models before release, especially if they're going for their typical cinematic presentation.

I like all the new character models, but I've been getting Uncanny Valley from almost every game I've seen for next gen. Will probably get used to it.

I recognized Varric right away, while my wife didn't but I think he just looks a bit more rugged - like he's been through a lot (which he has).

Cassandra I recognized, but she looked like a hybrid between DA2 and.... that anime movie I can't currently recall the name of.

If she's a party member then she might have some trouble with all the running around with her new dress.

If she was able to run around in mage robes, I doubt the dress will be much of a fuss.
It also helps she specializes in ranged combat and only hand-to-fang/claw/whatever combat when she is in animal form.

Another plus: IF she is a companion we will get to customize her outfit somewhat anyway.

Looks like crap to me. She has a lantern jaw and too-wide nose and lips, not to mention the random moles, and her cheeks are not as well defined. I know she's aged a bit, but she looks like an entirely different character, like a random woman who threw on the same makeup and hair style to look like Morrigan.

Just came to mind, she looks like Caterina Sforza in AC2/BH

First time I thought it was off a bit. I didn't really like it. But after watching the trailer a second time, I kinda of grown into it. I guess I took into account that it has been 10 years since we last saw her, and the fact that its in a different engine as well.

I find that hard to believe. Forumites have gone on wild speculative tangents with less than this using nothing but tidbits from past events and vague rumors or developer comments.

The hair thing is a matter of taste, I guess. It doesn't bug me that she's wearing a longer fringe. I see that style plenty in real life and fiction. It's a bit cliche for a sinister, mysterious witch to wear it but hardly a dealbreaker for me.

I'll have to watch the video again to examine her mouth animation. I was paying more attention to her dress and choker. :P Hopefully they do fix her lip animations since it seems to be leaving a bad impression, but I hope they don't try to make her a mirror of what she was in Origins. In my opinion that would be a bad move.

It was 10 years at the end of DA2. We don't know how much further into the future Inquisition is.

There's nothing wrong with her new look. What defines Morrigan for me is her voice actress, Claudia Black. Not so much on her appearances, that's the least of my worry.

It suits CLAUDIA BLACK's voice better. Because it's darker and more badass.

It doesn't look like her, but it's just a cgi trailer so I'm not really bothered.

It's not CGI, it's in-game footage.

The only consensus should be that just like how the visual changes in DA 2 spawned hundreds and possibly thousands of posts of thumbs up and thumbs down, the visual changes in DA 3 will do the same.

:)

Myself? I've never been partial to dwarves, so couldn't care less about Varic's look. I think Morrigan got a bit gaunt, and a sharper nose? She's still very recognizable, and to be blunt, it was Claudia Black's voice acting that made the character, not her looks, imo.

Also, I like her outfit. Considering how much she enjoyed the luxuries of modern civilization, I'd certainly hope that she'd eventually get rid of her hobo swamp dweller tribal look and put on some stylish clothing. ;) Though I think this one pays a little too much homage to her tribal look, though that was probably a concious choice by the art team borne out of the misguided belief that people can't handle drastic changes (despite Flemeth's drastic style change between DA: O and 2 going over, I thought, quite well).

She looks fine in the trailer, most of those stills are pretty misleading when you actually see her in motion. Certainly recognisably Morrigan in any case.

Well, call me a cynic, but I recall how Flemeth was everywhere prior to DA 2 being released. Narrating, promotional shots, videos, etc, but she ended up only taking up like 5-10 minutes of the actual game.

I'm not going to be shocked at all if Morrigan pulls a DA 2 Flemeth and is only briefly actually in DA: I. I certainly hope not, as I enjoyed her character a lot, but cynicism comes with age and experience, and when you think of the logistical nightmares of making her a more concrete addition to the game, and her taking on Flemeth's DA 2 narration roles...well...again...cynicism comes with age. :D

It's a mix.

The Morrigan bit clearly would not happen in any part of the game.
