I love it, is a good mix of the trailer version and her Origins morph. Like the new textures and the silky hair. I am excited to see how much improvements will be made with the character models with this new engine. I really disliked DA2 textures, they seemed waxy to me. So this seems like a big improvement so far.

I wish her eyes were a little more almond shaped like they were in DAO, but overall I think she looks pretty good.

But fair enough. Long time until release anyway, I imagine all the characters will be tweaked several times over by the time its out.

BSN is very toxic.  Always make sure to wear a gas mask.  As for Morrigan, I thought she looked strange when I first saw her since she looked older than a woman in her early to mid thirties (though obviously, people age better than others), but she looked a lot better when I saw a second viewing of the trailer, so it may have just been a low-quality video I saw first.

As for feedback, I remember something about feedback on Geralt's appearance in Witcher 2 screenshots leading to changing of his appearance in the final product, but I'm not too clear on the details for that.  I definitely remember screenshots before release where he definitely looked....'worse' I suppose.

I think Varric and Cassandra translated over well though.  In fact, when somebody, did a screenshot comparison between Varric there and in DA2, he looked pretty freaky in DA2 to me.

Did I say it was? There is indeed lots of positive stuff being said about the trailer. Insofar as character appearances go, however, it's still subjective nonsense. As it always is.

Gaider reminds of a fellow by the name of Rick Loomis from back in the heyday of play by mail games before the pc became commercially successful. Progress caught up with him eventually. shrugs.
Someone on Gamefaqs said Morrigan looks like RuPaul in drag. Nothing against crossdressers but he does have a point.

Get rid of the "beauty marks." Morrigan didn't have them before, and shouldn't now. Otherwise, I'm ambivalent about it. I still would've liked it better if it looked like DAO, but just a bit older.

Also, I disliked the Sacred Ashes look. Morrigan's one of the few characters in gaming that I thought looked markedly better in-game compared to the trailers and concept art. The in-game look in DAO suited her character the best out of those three reference points.

Its just not a very good representation of Morrigan, unless they just decided to say "Eh, close enough" and only carry forward that Morrigan has yellow eyes and black hair. Compared to her Origins character model, it just looks mostly different in terms of facial features and general shape. It reminds me more of a player made facemorph mod. The hair doesn't help since it obfuscates about half of her face and the animation on the mouth is dreadful so maybe its not as bad given a different angle.

But based solely on this, the general shape of her face seems more angular and guant than Origins, where she had a rounder  more oval shape face, at least from straight on. Her nose in the trailer seems more pointing down with a thinner and narrower bridge, as opposed to Orgins where it goes more straight and is pretty level to slightly turned up at the tip. Lips in the trailer seem thinner but they get crazy once she starts talking. Eyebrows look stuck in permanent angry pose in the trailer, whereas her neutral eyebrows in Origins were pretty flat. And the general shape of Morrigan's eyes were slightly upturned in Origins while they're more downturned in the trailer.




A lot of Morrigan's personality in Origins came from her eyes and facial expressions and I'm not catching on with that at all in the trailer. Maybe more footage from different angles and without that goofy hair would make a better impression on me.

I don't like it at all. Between the beauty marks and the dark teeth she looks 'realistic,' but in a totally creepy way. Very uncanny valley.

Thought her bottom lip was way too huge in the original so to me that's a good thing.

Yes because the trailer revealed so much of Morrigan's facial expressions and personality within those 10 seconds.

OK let me reword part of that. Not all criticism is toxic waste  

You're right its all subjective though. I just think its a waste & a little bit of a kick in the teeth to tell me nothing I say matters.

 I like it.  I also like how Varric looks in the trailer, although I was quite fond of the way he looked before as well.  I'm not super-picky about how the NPC's look I guess.

What I find interesting though is that she seems to have changed a bit, and not just in looks but style too. We see a bit of a smile out of her in the trailer, something that she almost never did in DA:O, and she is wearing a dress (a cue taken from Leliana maybe?). The point is, it almost seems as though the years and perhaps her travels with the Grey Warden have changed her disposition a bit.

Buddy of mine used to have his hair covering one of his eyes like that...until it gave him astigmatism.
Other than that, she looks delightfully creepy/loony (can't think of a better word for it), like she's maxed out on all the signs that say 'danger: do not touch'. I imagine the new threads are there for a story reason; Morrigan with magical power is scary, Morrigan with political or economic power is horrifying.

Possibly people just like dissecting the appearance of female characters. I'm not sure. Maybe it's just something you get used to, or will never like simply because it's different. I suppose you'll find out eventually.

I think the hair in her eyes is slightly strange, as it is very frustrating having a conversation when you can't make eye contact, so that may just be me. But it is always nice to see someone's two eyes especially a character we, hopefully, will do a lot of talking to


edit:on the other hand... It could be a plot thing, like a sacrificed eye. I know a many people romanced her, so a covered eye patch or a hole can be an interesting development. Even shocking

Feel free to make one.  I don't know if I've seen it in detail, but I've seen plenty of 'WTF did they did to Varric' type posts.  I've also seen plenty of 'OMGZ HES SO HOT' posts.
