I would really love if Shale made a return. Morrigan is back, might as well bring Shale too!

The last time a DA game was delayed, we got Shale added to the game.

If she isn't already slated to return in Inquisition, I think David is compelled to add her now. ;-)

Meeting a random dwarf with a strangely familiar voice and a fear of pigeons?

Count on it, I reckon.

About Shale:
does magic attribute effect stone aura ?
or is it only the quality of the crystals that determine effectiveness of the aura ?
(yes, i know it takes 38 str/con to equip)

IIRC, Stone Aura is a constant. It's modified only by the number of points you've spent in the Stone Aura tree (each one adds some buffs to the mode and/or improves existing ones).

What would be cool if Shale came back as a dwarf, with similar powers as before. Somehow her soul was scarred by the drowning in molten lyrium so she retains her magical powers and pretty crystals even as a dwarf.

Really?  'slated'?  You went there?  Ah well, I guess we should take it for granite that people will chip in with bad puns here,

I want her back, but certainly not as a dwarf! Her golem form is superior, why would she be a soft, squishy creature again just because of her impression of the warden? >.>

Hopefully she realizes that she was merely being delusional.Image IPB

That's assuming we get female dwarves in the game this time around which i doubt we'll get. Haven't read the book so don't know the circumstances of hers/its "transformation". However, if Shale got a male dwarven body in the book i think we'll see her/it/him consider Shale being a fan favorite.

Shale doesn't become a dwarf in the book.

If shale returns it should be as a dwarf.
The dynamic of shale now being soft and squishy herself could be interesting and fun.

She is the only companion from DAO to have not returned in any form so I'm all for this.

Wow, the BSN has really hit rock bottom. You'd have to be stoned to find that funny.

Confused. I thought Shale was a male golem - he seemed as such in DAO. Does he transgender or what? I never finished the game I had going with him/her/it...

If you do Shale's companion quest, you find out that she was once a female dwarf (I don't want to go into details about how golems are made since that might be too spoiler-y). The VA is a woman (Geraldine Blecker), although she has a wonderfully gravelly voice, which had me confused when I first got Shale, too.  :)

If you bring Shale to the Anvil mission you learn that she used to be a female Dwarf

I also heard that she went to Tevinter to try to become a Dwarf again, so if Shale was to return she would probably be there or another Dwarven city

Her voice is lowered a bit by computer to sound more androgynous. Here's her normal talking voice.

It still surprises me that she sounded male to some people, even with the alteration.

I remember first hearing her voice and being amazed. She was the very first companion we ever learned about (way back before she was cut)—all those years we just assumed she would be male (I know I did, and I don't remember ever seeing anyone else suggest otherwise on the old forums).

How wonderful and perfect she turned out to be.

Shale was recently with Wynne in Orlais. She's likely still around or hanging out somewhere nearby, now that Wynne is dead.

I'm not sure she could do it alone (I doubt people are just opening their doors to 10-foot stone constructs, especially since she's not the most affable lady around).

Shale hooked up with one of the Golems guarding the gates of Minrathous, but their relationship quickly ended up on the rocks because, according to her, trying to get through to him was like "talking to a brick wall"...

But seriously, I'd like to see her back in either form. Shale is one of my favourite companions.
