And good call on Bioware going with the Warcraft 3-internals dropping approach to this trailer. It's always epic watching fire reign from the skies.
Internals?
Damn you I am now going to sit thru all the WoW trailers

Oh, balls. I meant to say Infernals. The original WoW trailer does show a Warlock + Infernal though, which was pretty cool.

That what the E3 trailer revealed.
Question is: Why would anyone want to destroy the world, assuming they need to live in it afterwards.

SPOILER ALERT for those of you who are not up to date on Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire.

The Witcher would pulled some messed up stuff like that way before DA:I would.
Also you can kill everyone in ME2, i don't see any point in this.

Did you believe you figured out the entire plot from the trailer, and are bored? Are you part of the 'some' that enjoy complaining about every little thing?
If not, then his comment didn't pertain to you whatsoever. It wasn't a blanket dismissal. It was a targeted dismissal.
Target dismissal/response to those who rubbed him them the wrong way and then ignores the concerns of genuine fans leaving us high and dry.
Glad to see nothing has changed.

One could theorize that the demon invasion could be a result of the mage/templar war. The Veil gets torn during battle and we get a Soldier's Peak but on a much larger scale.
And possibly in multiple locations.
This is what I was thinking. Either intentionally (getting into desperate situations) or unintentionally (self-explanatory), the massive amount of death and magic used in this war is causing the Veil to rip in dozens of places. It basically operates on the principles of the Warp from 40K anyways.
Also, my first thought was definitely that whatever dropped from the sky looked like an Alien.

Ha. I can't even be annoyed by those who've evidently figured out the plot from that trailer and are already bored by it. It's kind of funny, really.
It's a different tack from DA2, certainly. But we do like to do that from game to game. The stakes are certainly higher. Hopefully you all like the details as they come out. Or complain about them... but since some of you enjoy doing that a lot, I imagine it's win/win overall.
then in the next game, make it about bunny rabits... we have to save ourselves from the hordes of bunny rabits
and in all honesty, from someone who spent way too much time on TVTropes website.. anything they "want" has already been done to death, and some of the things they want are "as old as dirt"
I mean really... we where going to have the save the world from something....

Considering how OP a DA main character can be I would say a naked hawke would have pretty good chances at kicking the crap out of everyone there.
Of course I'm pretty sure its just me, but is anyone getting a Evangelion feel from this? The main character has the power to save or destroy the world. The giant hole in the sky kind of reminds me of Third Impact. I also have a feeling that the main character is not going to have a happy ending no matter how many endings Bioware puts in.

If there is one, I hope it's Skyrim-style where you can kill the bride and feast on her corpse as a lycan.

What? Unnaceptable.
Where is the green "turn everyone into a mage-demon-templar-quanari hybrid" option?

I don't want to get Evangelion feel from this. The ending shocked me more then Red Wedding and Ned's death combined did, when i read it in the books. I just hope that if we can join the darkness, we actually do some scary and evil stuff.Hillbillyhat wrote...

Previous Bioware games aside from Jade Empire and KOTOR always had bad, stupid or logic decisions but you were never doing evil things. Let's hope here you can.

I think this game could be a very interesting addition to the DA universe, just hopefully it doesn't forget what the main issues are supposed to be. I didn't like the 3 part structure of DA2 much, with the motive of the 1st act simply to make money, the 2nd to quell the Qunari threat and the 3rd to try calm the issues with mages/templars. I felt it was a little messy.

Nah, just kidding; the trailer is just glimpses, not a summary. It made me curious about what the game's going to be about, and thus I'm looking forward to fall 2014. Long wait, but it's great to see BW taking their time after what rushing did to DA2.

I think they decided that DA2 struggled because it didn't have that sort of thing. So went for the genericest plot possible. Or at least, decided to present it as the genericest plot possible, it's possible that actual game will have more depth.
Seemed to me that DA2 would have had more depth if the political intrigue would have been deepened out more. The stage for that would have been perfect in the game.
As for the teaser in the trailer......what if the tear in the veil as being portrayed is being used storywise to make the mages and templars kiss up and join forces to fight that common enemy?
Political struggles between the parties and races involved can still be deepened out in the story.
I do hope that the dwarves will get a bigger storyline if the deep roads and the darkspawn seem to have a big role in the game again.
