This is a great day to be a Star Wars fan. Sure this game is being made by a military shooter developer and is being published by EA, but I am willing to give them both a chance to make this the best Battlefront game in existence. Just think of all the possibilities that can occur with the new existing technologies. Larger battles, destructable environments, amazing game modes (I hope they make an outstanding Conquest vs mode).

You may now discuss while exploding at the same time. This time, Battlefront may actually happen. No more cancellations or developers getting closed down after being rumored of being the developers. Please don't screw this up devs.

Although Dice and EA are apart of this, maybe we should try to be the least bit optimistic for this game. After all the stories of the game being cancelled after completion, BF3 will most likely become a reality at this point and I am really excited for its release.

Get ready for the ruination of another one of your favorite franchises.

Courtesy of EA, of course.

Yeah, I'll just leave this here.

For the lazy

EA recently opened a new DICE studio in LA for Star Wars projects. The office currently plays home to EA employees who worked on the Medal of Honor series while at Danger Close, as well talent recruited from outside the company.

Hooray.

Unless you guys didn't notice, Star Wars Battlefront (2 at least) was more of a mindless shooter than any FPS ever.

It will probably just be Battlefield 4 with Star Wars skin. Not that that's a bad thing, per se.

Hopefully they can revamp the player count on maps and return it to 16 v 16 or even 32 v 32. Space battles will hopefully be great given that the franchise skipped a whole console generation.

Dice made Call of Battlefield. It plays a lot like it.

I know right?

The fact that the FIRST game they decide to make is Battlefront is a HUGE step forward imo. They could have made stupuid kinect and force unleashed crap but no, instead they go stright to the game us fans have been waiting for.

I've been waiting a decade for this game, no joke since the last one in 2004. I am excited to see how it unfolds. As long as they keep AI and OFFLINE modes avaliable like traditional Battlefront has I will be happy. Until Battlefront III comes out I will still play Battlefront II on steam.

Tbh I'm a little worried. I don't want BF4 with a Starwars mod. I hope they do it right.

Also, I will literally rage quit if it is made solely 1st person.

O really? Or is it another half-assed semi-confirmed rumor?

Well, if it's something like a Star Warsy Modern Warfare 1 I can appreciate it!

I'm a bit sceptical about the land battles, for reasons others have already stated, but I'm still curious to see what they'll do with the space battles.

Battlefront games have practically all the components that make a BF game. How on Earth could they **** up a franchise that's almost parallel in gameplay minus the first person focus?
