What? Nonsense. Hawke is the most important person in Thedas, his/her rise to power is legendary. Clearly, s/he is hard working, trying to find a solution to all this conflict.

If Hawke was supposed to be the chosen one (the only one than can stop the world from going to hell) doesn't he has to die to make our protagonist the last "hope"?
I'm just saying it could match the need for a new protagonist.

That would be so traumatic our Inquisitor would probably have nightmares for the rest of the game.

If Bioware kills Hawke offscreen I won't be able to even care about DA3. Why should I?

I don't think Hawke is that important. I got the vibe from DAII that Hawke's "destiny" or whatever was to be involved with the whole Circle uprising thing, and that Cassandra was looking for him/her because of their influence over a group of people - mages or templars, depending on the side s/he picked. (I'm assuming there's a version of "someone the mages would listen to" for a templar-siding Hawke. I've never gone pro-templar.)
If they need to kill off Hawke, who was completely ineffectual as a protagonist, to justify making the Inquisitor the best option for saving the world...uh, not a good sign.

This, pretty much.

Since some of us didn't hate DA2, I really hope it isn't a dead Hawke under the cover.

Waitress from the hanged man.
The thing is. I had a sense that Varric is a bit tall for a dwarf in this scene. He almost looks like human, probably, they did not "scale" him in a proper way yet? ))Also that body does not look like a full grown human, Varric's whole hand is the size of the body's head.
