Who else hoped for a bit earlyer release?

First! Let me start with pointing out that I really want them to get DA:I right and if that means they need much more time then so be it!

...Second!
Sadly the impatient ( and currently tipsy ) monster inside of me howls in frustration because we must wait until fall 2014 :( I really, really had hoped that DA:I was going to be one of the games that get pushed out with the new generation consoles to tempt more people to buy them. Naturally I had hoped that they where going to be pushed out in a polished state. I believe we even had some whisperes here before that the devs are hoping for a late 2013/early 2014 release?

In the end matters not! How do you feel about the ''release date'' ( i know it's vague ) and did you also allow yourself to hope that it might be out a bit earlyer then that? Share your thoughts!

Also, might there be a chance that it will still be released a bit earlyer then that? Yes I know that any dev reading this will desk and mumble ''damn fans'' but hey! Tipsy! Watching E3 at 3 AM, madness everywhere!

I'm glad they're pushing it back to give them as much time as they need, but...the 'Fall 2013' release window they kept talking about got my hopes up, I think. So I am definitely a little bummed and impatient now, not gonna lie. :S

In the words of women all around the world....

I'd rather have it be good than fast.

Hoped for earlier, yes.

Disappointed in a longer development cycle, no.

I'm glad they're taking their time with building the game. Both DA2 and ME3 suffered from having short development cycles, and could have been much better if they had more time.

I did.

However I believe if they have more time to polish the game, it will be worth the wait.
So I'm adapting.

I'm glad they delayed the game...but I think they have officially waited too long to reveal some kind of solid details.

No... I really wanted DA2 to come out as possible and... it did, and i didnt like it. The Origins wait was cruel but all worth it in the end, im sure there will be plenty of (Only EA) Games (bow down to EA) to be playing while i wait for it.

No, once they told us the release of the next novel I knew it would've been after that or alongside it. The more time to work on a game is the better.

I'm actually happy on the news of them delaying til fall of 2014. We don't need a DA2 repeat. The wait will be grueling but hopefully it means it'll be great like origins, or perhaps even better.

Weren't we ALL ****ING complaining about how rushed DA2 and ME3 was? Didn't we ALL AGREE that BioWare needed more time for their RPGs?

And now this? Does the BSN go for its own cyber-mensturation cycle or what? This is a freaking BLESSING. I am relieved that I have to wait another year. I have no wish to see BioWare die, and this might be their chance to "rise from the ashes."

Meh, Bioware's still on my poop list after ME3. I can wait.

Not me. I can wait patiently just fine as long as the end product is worth it, and I can't even begin to judge on that yet.

I hope the extra year they're putting into it is worth it.

Extra dev time can only mean good things... considering the development cycle of DA2, it's kind of amazing it even ran, so the good long chunk of time spent on DA3 hopefully means it will blow the previous 2 games out of the water. It's also a smart move given the new consoles at year's end, you wanna get that market too if you can.

I am all in favor of Bioware taking all the time it needs. However, I do remember just recently that a developer was here on the boards saying something to the effect, "We are on target for a fall 2013 release." And the context (I may be misremembering) was speculation that the game would be pushed back to Spring 2014.

That bit of deception concerns me. If in fact the game was on target for release this Fall, even if they were given some extra time, what do they need and entire year for? And if it wasn't really on target, why say it was?

So with tin foil hats firmly in place, let's speculate!

Or not...

But if we do, mine would be that this "delay" was for business rather than development reasons - i.e., it might have to do with when EA wants the game released. Maybe they want to have a multiple release for present and next-gen consoles rather than anything to do with "polishing" the game. So while the game is pretty near ready for current consoles, they need an extra year to make one compatible with next gen?

Which means the Evil EA is deliberately keeping this game out of the hands of us poor consumers!

Naw, just joshing...

Edited for stupid sticky keyboard...

It's been almost four years this fall since I first played Origins. Making me wait til next year seems a little too much. What have they've been doing since then? Oh yeah, that whole Kirkwall thing...By waiting a whole year from the original projected release, they are really going to make some high expectations for this game.

Plenty of games to fill the time between now and then, I am glad they are not rushing it out the door this time. Take their time, get it right. TW3 is out 2014 aswell but I am sure will pick up both.
