I have a weapon modeled and textured in 3D Max, but I can't convert it to DAO format no matter what I try.
I tried both the DAOExport and Tapnztools (or whtever they're called).
Can someone else convert these for me? I can easily send the .3ds file and .dds texture

Methinks the problem lies more with going from 3DMax to FBX. I've seen no tutorial on what export options should be set or anything like that.
The 3D Max exporter readme mentiones nodes, but nothing specific. I don't even know if the mesh has to be set-up in a specific way. This lack of IMPORTANT detail is really annoying - and this is coming from a guy who's been modding for over 10 years.
Not sure.
I will try again this weekend.

For weapons and any other non-animated mesh I'd avoid using FBX like the plague (although if you used ChewyGumball's script then you'd be exporting direct anyway). If you send me an OBJ I'll try it and see if there's any problems. Send me a PM.
