Kenny may be quick to anger and a bit of a psycho at times but at least he is honest, and you know what your dealing with. Not to mention I feel kenny and Clem have a father daughter bond at this point and I dont want to see it end yet. With Jane always ready to leave or scheming to "prove a point" there is no trusting her imo. So staying with kenny, to me seems the best way to go. Plus I don't trust wellington, I just have this weird feeling that that its just like carvers or worse. If kenny dies anyway I want it to be saving clem and  Aj or something like that, not being shot like rabid dog!

Jane might be the more stable choice at first glance, but if you look closely at her behaviour across Season 2, she shares a lot of similarities with Kenny that make her no better a choice than him in the long run (as well as making her criticisms of him rather hypocritical).

 

Both Kenny and Jane:

 

Don't play well with others.

 

No-one (save possibly Clem) really trusts Jane. While Kenny's hot-headed nature causes people to lose their trust in him, Jane never makes any effort to engender trust with anyone, which is just as bad, if not worse. Remember that in the finale, Clem has to convince both of them to stop being loners and come back to the fire.

 

Don't trust new people easily.

 

Even if you befriended and agreed with him constantly in Season 1, it still took a long time for Kenny to fully come around to trusting Lee and his decisions. In Season 2, Kenny seems to only reluctantly accept the Cabin survivors into the group after Clementine vouches for them, although remains wary of them for some time. Jane's aloof and distant attitude towards the Cabin and the Lodge Groups in Season 2 is no different, with her making no effort to befriend anyone, save for Clementine after she proved invaluable in enacting the escape from Howe's. In the ending with Clem and Jane at Howe's, Clem also has to convince Jane to let the people in.

 

Are completely reckless at times.

 

We all know by now that Kenny is completely reckless at times, while Jane is reckless in her casual disregard for the well-being of other people. Both Kenny and Jane rarely apologise for their actions either, justifying them as being necessary for the situation at hand such as Jane's decision to abandon her sister (and arguing against saving Sarah), as well as Kenny's repeatedly ignoring the group's wishes in both Seasons, under the belief that he's the only person who's doing the right thing.

 

Are highly confrontational when called out.

 

Neither Kenny or Jane like to admit when they're wrong and the rare times they do so, it's only (begrudgingly) to Clementine. Similarly, their argument in the car (which Jane technically started) has the two of each other both deliberately antagonise each other with spiteful comments, simply to get a rise out of the other. Likewise, Jane's plan with AJ was done to deliberately enrage Kenny, knowing that he'd probably attempt to kill her and force Clemetine to see what he was really like. Except if Clem abandons her, it shows that Clem also realised that Jane is manipulative and untrustworthy, as desperate for Clem's companionship as Kenny is.

 

Really, when you get down to it, the two of them are just two of a kind.

I stood silent with Jane afterwards, Clem could neither forgive her, but she knew she couldn't survive on her own, so they just silently moved along.Bittersweet.I accepted the family at Carver's camp, my Clementine is a kind-hearted person, even if it puts her in danger.

 

 

BTW I cried like a baby when Luke died, saddest moment of Season 2 for me.

Seconded, Kenny is the lesser of two evils, since he's the devil Clem knows as opposed to Jane who she doesn't.

 

As far as I can tell, Clem spends only about four or five days with Jane before the end of S2, whereas she knew Kenny for months in S1. And when you look at it like that, a few bad days shouldn't be enough to damn Kenny or say that he was now completely beyond help?

As we see in the 9-day timeskip when he's with Clem, the two of them are laughing and joking together, showing that there is still a gentle and kind Kenny in there. His offer to leave Clem and AJ at Wellington while he strikes out alone is also completely selfless. He doesn't rant or rave like you'd expect, he begs them to take the kids because he genuinely cares more for Clem and AJ than himself, showing that despite his problems, he's still a good guy at heart.

 

Meanwhile, with an entire store at their disposal, Jane has to be cajoled into letting three more people in. Seriously Jane? Do you really expect you and Clem to fix the place up, move the bodies and look after a baby without any help? She seems to just want Clem to become as jaded as her and as hard as Clem becomes over S2, I don't think Clem should ever truly lose her sense of hope. I don't think Clem wants that and it's definitely not what Lee would have wanted for her either.

 

As for Clem's reaction to the decision, it seems to me that she's far more forgiving of Kenny for his murder of Jane, than she does of being forced to shoot him if she sides with Jane. With the ending with Kenny, she seems to be trying to help him return to the person he used to be and refuses to give up faith in him. In the ending where she went with Jane however, her behaviour seems (to me, at least) like she's not was prepared to trust her again, at least not for a long while?

Good points, I guess I prefer to go with what I know and plus I am not ready to give up on kenny despite what he has done. Its true Kenny makes it hard to be loyal but I still believe he is a good man, if not a broken man. Also despite what Jane has gone through, I still feel it isn't justified, her tricking Kenny and Clem about AJ just to get a confrontational reaction from kenny. If I had been kenny I probably would have snapped myself, especially when it comes to the life a child and in that situation. I mean put yourself in Kenny's shoes, no doubt imagining that poor defenseless child being killed by walkers or freezing to death in the snow, on top of everything he went through. I mean I agree that he shouldn't have killed jane (would have simply left her behind), but I am not surprised.

I don't know about that, Jane is just as bad since she's emotionally cold and distant, who doesn't seem like a responsible adult either.

 

It's not to say the Kenny's recklessness isn't sometimes a danger to the group, but it's hardly fair to blame him for all the misfortune that the group suffers. While Jane doesn't endanger the group with her actions, her inaction is just as bad, since she could help to make things better but instead prefers to remain apart from the group and keep one foot always out the door.

 

Similarly, it's hard to say she can't seeing people suffer seems a stretch, as her comments to Kenny about the death of his family and Sarita, as well as her tricking him into thinking that AJ was dead, are rather reprehensible. She could have at least tried to smooth things over with him for Clem's sake, which is something that Kenny had told Clem he was trying to do (even if he knows he's repeatedly failing at it).

 

It's not to hate on Jane, as I do like her character and it's true that Kenny can be a hot-headed dunce at times, but it's unfair to say he's the one more at fault when as I've shown before, the two of them are peas in a pod.

 

Really, I wish we'd been able to have an outcome where;

I got a really unsetteling feeling after that sentence.It was a strong way to make an ending.You were immediately reminded of the scene in episode 1 but were also unsure of the intentions of the "family".

Well, I was really happy with my "stick with Kenny" ending (as an aside, I was worried for a minute that the game wouldn't give me a choice and would force Clem to go into Wellington, but thankfully it didn't). I haven't seen any of the other endings though, so I don't have any reaction to them.

It might be because he has a "we'll pull it through, we'll fight to the end, we'll survive even if all the odds are against us additude and we will NEVER give up" additude and he is loyal.
