The feelz all you young'uns are expressing towards the characters (and being all protective towards Clem) make this old girls heart swell.

Also, I hope we find out once and for all what Kenny's fate was.

If it makes you feel better, I was swarmed once and devoured by Walkers when I claimed that I liked Kenny more than Clementine, whom I saw as an obvious attempt to make a "likeable" kid because "real" kid characters--similar to Duck--are hated.

I actually quite liked Duck myself. He made a great Robin.

I liked Duck as well.

In fact the saddest part of the game for me was the back-to-back deaths of Duck and Katjaa. That hit me harder than Lee's death.

I had to stop playing for about a week after that.

The deaths of Duck and Katjaa were the turning point in the relationship of Kenny and my Lee.

No, she shot Lee, which is a hard choice. She shot somebody who was like a father to her and had taught her everything she knew aftert he outbreak happen. That would have changed her big time.

To which I'd have to say that she is wasting a bullet on someone who is no longer an immediate threat - doubtful a Walking Lee would even have his one hand, in case the other got chopped off, intact after breaking loose, if he can even manage that - as well as drawing other Walkers to her. Neither is an immediate consequence in the game, I know, but then that's on the meta-level anyway.

She knows at this point to shoot them in the head, put that to practice when going to Crawford in my case. And just what Lee took upon himself there will likely dawn on her in time.

But then, that's just my preference there. I can see why someone would let her go ahead with that, put like that.

C'mon! No one can be that pragmatic when it comes to a loved one. Even Tywin, Mr.Pragmatic for 20 years running still holds hatred towards his son for 'killing' his wife.

To quote Lee hisself further on it:

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Ylyfp11F6ww

The guy playing, as well as Lee himself, raises another point there, which I may not share but can still be considered: her, a child, becoming emotionally scarred by killing the big man looking after her.

And I know it's a topos that's been tainted by certain other games, but I consider not urging Clementine to take that risk for herself - the shot drawing Walkers to her - to be the sacrifice I've witnessed in a game.

On that note...

'You can leave me. It's okay.'

'It's okay. It won't be me.'

Purest, tragic gold. Made me sob several long minutes first time through.

I wasn't sheltering Clem throughout the game, I kept twisting the knife whenever the option presented itself that this world was hell and it'll never get better. Her shooting Lee in the end was his final lesson to her.

You can still be sheltering even whilst you show her how to take care of herself. It's not a simplistic paragon/renegade path.

I had Clem shoot Lee.

To me its an unwritten rule of the zombie apocalypse that you don't allow the living to become walkers, only for them to kill or turn more of the living. This particularly the case with people you care about. It is also probably not the last time Clem will witness or take part in something similar, and so I see it as Lee's final lesson.

I told her that her parents were likely dead, we wouldn't bother looking for them, the world won't ever return to normal, etc.

Like I said, I kept twisting the knife.

I told her the truth, but I was reassuring, because, hope, which is not an unrealistic thing to teach a child (especially in a post apocalyptic setting). She'll grow up pretty fast even with Lee no longer around. Clem is pretty tough and clever already, she knew where to hide at the beginning without the help of adults.

I chose to get Clem to shoot Lee, because although I can understand what you're saying Chashan, it was something I thought would be important, something she needed to do in order to get to the next stage - ie be on her own and survive.

Although I do hope she catches up with Omid and Christa.

I'm guessing Clem will run into Omid and Christa eventually, just not at the start, as it would be more dramatic to have her on her own for a bit.

That being said I also don't see that ending well. Knowing Telltale and how things generally tend to play out in the TWD universe, they'll probably both end up being killed with Clem forced to flee with their baby.

Christa's baby is a stillborn and devours it's way out of her.

That'd be fun.

No it wouldn't.

Unrelentingly grim does not necessarily equal deep or good story telling.  It would be a total turn off for me (I'm a new mother and have close friends who have had stillborn babies.) So just no, absolutely not.  That is incredibly cheap thrill story telling maskerading as somehow profound - when all it is, is crap.  Good thing I can't see them doing that.

Honestly Dave, from the posts I've seen you make - I can never tell if you're serious or just trolling...

Oh yeah. But I sort of expect that sort of thing from HBO.

If you took that away, it would still be as shocking, so why the hell did they do that (it was my only real beef with the translation of the red wedding from book to tv.) Maybe to add just one more kick of agony to those who knew about the Red Wedding? Or just gratuitous?

And it is Game of Thrones...

A Song of Ice and Fire isn't so dark as to have an undead baby, say from the Others, crawling out of a mother's belly.

So thats a thing.

Written on a page is also different from actually seeing it. Both can be visceral experiences, but at least when you read you have time to take it in, to register, to reread - visual experiences can be haunting, and not always in a good way.

and because now I just want to hug something.

I'm so tempted to link a certain 'song' by Explicit. 'Cos Lee is certainly one hell of a LAD.

To lighten up this feels train, I thought I'd post some Lee Memes.
