It's not because Lee turning into a threat, it's sparing Lee the fate of becoming one. It's a mercy kill that Clem does.Chashan wrote...

No, she shot Lee, which is a hard choice. She shot somebody who was like a father to her and had taught her everything she knew aftert he outbreak happen. That would have changed her big time.
To which I'd have to say that she is wasting a bullet on someone who is no longer an immediate threat - doubtful a Walking Lee would even have his one hand, in case the other got chopped off, intact after breaking loose, if he can even manage that - as well as drawing other Walkers to her. Neither is an immediate consequence in the game, I know, but then that's on the meta-level anyway.
She knows at this point to shoot them in the head, put that to practice when going to Crawford in my case. And just what Lee took upon himself there will likely dawn on her in time.
But then, that's just my preference there. I can see why someone would let her go ahead with that, put like that.
If you where in Lees spot, would you really want to turn into a monster or be killed and spared that terrible fate? I know what I would pick and that's what I did with that choice. Clem killed a person she loved so she could spare him that horrible fate.

Written on a page is also different from actually seeing it. Both can be visceral experiences, but at least when you read you have time to take it in, to register, to reread - visual experiences can be haunting, and not always in a good way.
Doesn't have to be seen, it could just be Christa screaming that something is wrong and she feels her insides being torn-up and dies. One thing leads to another, Omid realizes what's happening and freaks out and even though the baby doesn't have to be seen, it's gruesome and terrifying.
After all, we're dealing with a post-apocalyptic world in which Christa has no medical assistance and her diet / lifestyle cannot be good for the baby. It would be a terrifying reminder that everything dead reanimates even if it hasn't been "born" yet and would disturb a large group of people, more than enough to make it worth it.
It's not so different from the scene in Dawn of the Dead's remake where the husband keeps his undead wife chained so she'd give birth to an undead child.

I don't really understand the argument that shooting Lee will haunt Clem the rest of her life, at least she knows that he's dead and gone in this scenaro while the alternative has her always knowing that out in the world, there's a zombie Lee roaming around. That'd haunt me much more.

I probably would have had her shot Lee if it wasn't for the fact that Clem had just seen her zombie parents and shot the stranger. She's going to have to put up with a lot more terrible stuff I'm sure, so I tried to limit the trama.I don't mean to be rude but...TheBlackBaron wrote...

Still not a fan of the idea, but having it off screen makes it less gratuitous and more about the gravity of the scenario.Dave of Canada wrote...

I don't know if I can equate something like Dawn of the Dead with something like the TWD, one is horror, the other, as we've both mentioned, is post apocalyptic, two different genres really.
I don't think it will haunt Clem either, more so it will be a 'hard lesson', taught under the most stressful/extreme of situations.

A monster that, when turned, would be handcuffed - a measure taken by Lee himself precisely due to the risk he poses to her at that point - in a shop in the middle of a town that's void of anything alive and worth salvaging should anyone ever go to those parts again. And the low chances of him pulling out of that any time soon I mentioned before.
The decision-making is also less one that Clementine reaches on her own, it is a matter of Lee encouraging what she does. Other ways of putting him down swiftly and in a way feasible for the girl other than the gun are also not on the table. And why the gun is a problem I already laid out.
Call it hopelessly old-fashioned or what have you, but him, knowing full well what being left there would mean to him discouraging that I view as virtuous, selfless sacrifice.

Indeed. The TV-show appears to have picked that gruesome detail up in one of its recent episodes.

Even the general feel of it is enough to get me sniffy. I can't get over how effective that cold, bitter, music-less silence during the scene with the stranger is at enhancing the atmosphere of it.

The second time round I started breaking down right before they entered the garage. Just knowing was bad enough. Especially when Clem sees your bite and goes "no, no no no" I really feel like saying "I'm sorry! The stupid game didn't let me QTE!!"

Agree. I have to say this is one of my favourite action sequences from TWD. Still gives me chills. The music complements the scene nicely.SergeantSnookie wrote...

As soon as Lee was bitten I went through the "five stages of grief" till the next episode.
When the next episode came out I had decided to let Lee go down like a true badass... and TellTale gave me the scene in front of the Hotel.
In the End Lee went out like a badass as I had planned and I ended up as a sobbing wreck.

I have yet to see someone who didn't cry at the end of ep. 5 lol
I think , I didn't.
I was so obsessed with Clementine and getting her to a safe place ...
I was busy cursing Lee , he took his sweet time telling her , hey I'm about to turn into a zombie , you need to get away from me and find the others.
When he faints , I thought great , worst rescue EVER now he will rise and eat her brain.
Totally ruined the ending for me.
But there are a lot of time in game ,where Lee made me angry...when he took Clementine at some train station and she got attacked .I was so pissed...

While she's a great character, I'm not sure I actually want to be playing *as* her - being in the position of an adult trying to be a role model/caretaker for her is probably easier for me to roleplay than actually trying to think like a 9- or 10-year-old would think. Plus, it seemed like part of the idea behind Season 1 was that Lee's choices would shape Clementine's morals to some extent. I'm not sure how they can pick that up if we're controlling her, unless every decision has at least three *possible* choices and Lee's S1 choices determine which two are unlocked.

I'm really hoping we get switching protagonists like we did in 400 days. Whilst I love Clem, playing as her for all episodes - not sure that it would be for the best.FlyingSquirrel wrote...
So are we going to be playing exclusively as Clementine in Season 2 or is she just one of several playable characters?

Whilst changing viewpoints can be a bit derailing in written narratives, it might work well here.
