It did work for Hershel in the TV series. Granted, it is separate from the comic universe but we also had someone from Clementine's new group who claimed that they know someone who lived after doing the same thing.

But since this is a Telltale game, he is totes going to die anyway. RIP Pete.

Pete can still be saved. :?

He can cut off his leg, but Clem knows how that worked out for Lee

The track record of saving bitten people through amputation in TWD universe is far from good, true, but it has successfully been done before.

Clem's only seen Lee's failed attempt though.

I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here. Are you saying that having witnessed a non-life-saving amputation case before would make Clem try and discourage Pete from trying that tactic? Because I don't really think that's the case.

Well, I was talking about the comic universe in the first place, in which Dale's the one who establishes that amputating a zombie bite can be survivable.

But since this is a Telltale game, he is totes going to die anyway. RIP Pete.

Yeah, I was just arguing from an in-universe perspective. From a metagame standpoint, I agree that he's pretty much doomed.

That means nothing. He told Clem that his cousin survived and he is going to attempt it, Clem should help Pete, not argue with him. While true amputations are not 100%, but he still has a chance and Clem should help him instead of letting him die to save a person who is cleary fine.

I'm guessing its going to work simply because we've already potentially had two fatal/failed amputations in the game. (the guy who was travelling with Ben, and Lee)

I think this time they are going to pull a Hershel.

ambutation hasn't worked for Allen in the comic books. The bite kills but coming back doesn't require a bite to begin with. All are infected. If anything, if you survive the bite and the ambutation you're fine but the chances for that are pretty low given how few ressources they all have.

It worked for Hershel, because they immediately removed his foot.
Lee's arm gets choped off probably few hours after he gets bitten. As soon as i saw Lee loosing consciousness i knew or at least expected that infection has already spread enough, which is the reason why i didn't bother removing arm.

My only goal was saving Clem and geting her to safety, with arm removed it would only slow Lee down.

You can still survive and we have examples from the comics, TV and even the game(Petes cousin) Is it low? Yes, but it's still possible.

I'm not, I'm just saying that in that moment she may see Pete as a dead man walking (Pun not intended)

That would soooo something a comic-book nerd would do xD (and I'm talking about the dude from the Simpsons-type xD)

"Errr, you do *know* it's impossible right?"
"Shut up and help me dammit!"
"In issue #12-"
"Shut the F*CK up and F*CKING help!"

So does anyone remember seeing a wrist watch in one of the desk drawers while looking for bandages? I didn't grab it on my run through since, what would I need it for but does anything happen if you take it?

Nothing happens in Episode 1. I was expecting them to find it and accuse Clementine of stealing it, and it'd hurt her relations with them. There's still time for that to happen in later episodes, though.

Also, has anyone else had issues with the achievements not unlocking or is that just me?

Probably going to be like with the food in the car. Carlos as final boss, that was his wife's watch!

No problems with achievements on my 360 version.

Also, I just want to go on the record and say that I am a 21 year old male with fairly large arm muscles, and I sobbed like a little girl when Sam--whom I thought was going to become a permanent fixture--attacked Clem and she had to put him down.

Sobbed.

There, I said it.

I was like... "No way a dog, finally" and then that happened.  Being a dog owner too, I was like...

At first I thought he'd tag along so Clem wouldn't have to talk to her self for the rest of the game, then we got old yeller'd.

So did I, I thought we were going to end up running into the owners or something.  The thing is, it seemed like a good dog (probably was), but take it out of the elements it was raised up in and when it comes down to its needs, like the food scene - it won't hesitate.

I always try to avoid watching anything animal related in games, films, shows - that involve some form of death - I'm too sensitive for those scenes, haha.

I'm pointing at you Elfen Lied.

This may make me a horrible person, but I gave zero f**ks about the dog. Sorry, Sam, in a universe where major characters die brutally on a regular basis, I'm not going to feel sad about killing you just because we played frisbee for two minutes.

Kenny died a horrible tragic death, tripping over Duck's corpse.
