Speaking of Alvin, I predict that as the episodes progress, Rebecca will warm up to us and we'll start caring about her more (if the ep. 3 title card says anything).

She better behave

Playing through season one. Nearing the end of episode 3.

Is Hershel Greene from the game the exact same character as the one in the show?

No, the game's set in the comic universe, not the show one.

Yup, TWD game is set in the comic book verse and thus running along with Ricks group, so any characters that we meet in the games that where also in the comic(Hershel and Glen) are the same people except for Lily. Lily in the game is not the same one who worked with the Governor.

It does not work with the show because while it's based on the comic book it changes too many things as certain characters who are still alive should be dead, characters who should be alive are dead, new characters are introduced to replace some characters and some deaths are outright changed, so it's imposeable for the game to be set in both verses.

cheesy line but I loved it.

Rick: Mother ****ers. They're gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out.

Abraham: Find out what?

Rick: They're ****ing with the wrong people.

*cue epic stance. Music is optional* xD

Just you wait until you see what Rick and co. do to the Hunters.

And some people think how Lee (well, my Lee, anyway) handles murderous cannibals was brutal.

Lee's stuff was soft-core. It's good I kinda like crazy psychopath Rick xD

Edit: Chapter 13: Too Far Gone.

The Page before...

Modders managed to hack into the game files and reveal the two bandits we see in the screen for Episode 2 are named Johnny and Troy, as the in-game models they found named as such are identical to the characters in the menu picture. But Telltale's actually not left anything else lying around. They're apparently being very secure on spoilers.

Looks like they were a step ahead of the modders.

Sorry for being off topic, there isn't really anywhere else I can talk about the comic books. But damn, did I just go through the most tense, bad-ass fight in the series yet. It was like a bloody LOTR battle.

And Rick man... respect!

Empty? Why? I don't recall anything emotionally traumatizing happening towards the end of Compendium 2; its last few chapters even make up the longest death-free stretch in the entire series.

Both release dates are unknown, though TWD might be released this month given the 4-6 week break between episodes.

I really hope that game of thrones and borderlands isn't slowing them down.

Oh I will. I just found out those compediums consist of 4 years worth of comics. There is no way in hell I'm going to wait 3 years for more TWD goodness.

I just recently played S2 Chapter 1, and while I liked it, I'm still a little unsure about how role-playing Clementine is going to work out. Role-playing an adult trying to make decisions about how to protect and teach a child is different from actually role-playing the child myself, and the latter is a mindset I find harder to adopt as my own. Chapter 1 keeps her in crisis mode most of the time, so it's a little easier than it might otherwise be - a number of the choices basically revolve around whether or not you choose to have her be deceptive or manipulative in dealing with the new group of survivors. Since I played an altruistic Lee in S1, I had her be pretty straightforward and honest with them.

However...what is the point of keeping us, the players, in the dark about what happened to Christa's baby? The problem I have with this is that Clementine almost certainly *does* know what happened, and that would undoubtedly shape her perspective and attitude, and yet we're supposed to role-play her perspective and attitude without knowing this. (In fact, S1 kind of did this too - at the very beginning I'm supposed to role-play Lee responding to questions about whether he was really guilty of murder, and I thought to myself, "How the hell should I know whether he's guilty or not?" and chose a fairly neutral response to be safe. I later came to see him as wrongly convicted, but at the time I just didn't know.) If they're going to withhold this sort of crucial information from us, then we should be playing from the perspective of a character who also doesn't have the information.

I also caught myself at least once instinctively picking what may have been an age-inappropriate response - when Christa and Omid ask what they should name the baby, my inclination was to choose, "It's up to you." But I realized that's probably more my own perspective as an adult - it's their baby and their relationship, and I should keep my nose out of it. A child, though, might be more inclined to just give her opinion if asked for it. I ended up replaying that scene for other reasons and went with "What if it's a girl?" instead. But I didn't have to second-guess myself this much when playing Lee, and with that timer running on the choices, I am finding it a little harder to play as Clem.

Don't know if they have it on the consoles, but on the PC, you can press the space button to pause.

Maybe TellTale putting Chuck in the trailer was a subtle hint that we as players should be following his advice too, not just Lee. She's gonna die a child if she's treated like one.
