My hopes for playing the 2nd seasons have diminshed a lot when I discovered the 1st one was a big lie. The story is not tailored by how you play.
Still, the story was good, so I'm gonna play the second season when all episodes have been launched.

People have too much expectations when it comes to story branching. It'd get harder the more variable the developers have to take into accounts. Moreover, most people would choose the good options, so it's a waste of resources to account for the "evil" options. In the end, the story still needs to remain essentially the same when you move from one game to another or the workload would be too great just to account for all the variable. I'm enjoying the game so far, it's not so often we get to play as a young black girl.
I play Clementine as a manipulative bee, so hopefully, they would present more opportunities for me to act like that. Rebecca will be the first to go for almost got Clementine killed.

The issue is all deaths are predetermine. Saved Ben in ep4? Who cares he dies in ch5. Saved Carley? Who cares she dies in ep3. All of this keeps building up so it makes sense that some people are getting tired of it. What changes is simply how people react to you, but big things like death? You don't have any true say because Telltale has already chosen that X will die and no matter how much you try to save them they'll get killed off anyways quickly and thrown away like a sack of veggies. I loved The Walking Dead but TT went way to overboard with the deaths in the first season.

I think it's simply to make story telling easier. If they have season 3 and 4 subsequently, it would be harder and harder to account for the survivors being alive in one scenario but die in another, although I wouldn't be opposed to not seeing the selected survivor again and start over with a new cast each time, then people can head cannon whoever alive. This way, they can allow people to save whoever they want in each season.

Does not change the fact that the only thing "tailored" is thew characters reactions and how they view you, that's it and I think most users are becoming aware of this and voicing their concerns on a valid issue.

Which I'm personally fine with, the friendship with Kenny was all I need.
HE'S STILL ALIVE, DAMMIT.

Yeah, the whole "tailored" thing is BS.
Don't want to go to the farm? Overruled by the group.
Don't want to take the food? Overruled by the group.
Want to split up from the group in Crawford? lol, Nope.
It wouldn't be so bad if they said it was tailored to your experience, but they do say that.
I mean, hell, the boat is STILL taken even if Kenny stays at the house. The hell, man?

I guess it depends one what you expect from the phrase.

The story is tailored imo. I have a very different interaction with Kenny than most people do, you'll always follow the same plot points but how you react to them and how people react to you in turn is what changes, at no point do they say you have complete control over the story, just that it is capable of modifiying itself, which is true.
I do agree with Yukari that characters who had the option of dying did always die anyway later and that is a problem though, they could have potential had them separated from the group and make a cameo appearance afterwards in another season or something.

It is true that the interactions change, as Kenny not going with you is a change in itself. It's just, I don't know. I want more. I know that's an unreasonable request, but I want more.
