Sarah is pretty much everything I hate in a child protagonist while Clem's the opposite. XD

Christa. Side with Christa. Most competent character in TWD.

She kept Clementine alive for nearly two years, if you account for the fact that some time had probably passed between season 1 and the intro to season 2; all the while being grief stricken, pregnant, and then even more grief stricken. And partially blaming the kid she's protecting for her boyfriend's death.

For comparison, Lee was only around for about three and a half months.

If that isn't some kinda something...

I'd probably trust Christa before Kenny at this point, though it would help if we knew what happened during that unseen year.

This is something that games do fairly regularly that drives me up the wall - they ask us to role-play a character but withhold information about the character's past experiences. It's like at the beginning of Season 1 where Lee is in the police car and is supposed to say whether he's been wrongly convicted or not - I've known Lee for all of 30 seconds, so how am I supposed to respond to that?

Similarly, we don't know what happened to Christa's baby, but Clementine - unless she and Christa were separated once before - almost certainly does, but now we're supposed to role-play Clementine without that knowledge. Beyond the simple matter of how to respond to Christa if and when she reappears, whatever happened should be a factor in Clementine's general attitude and outlook, but it can't be since we don't know what it was.

I don't know why video game writers do this. Maybe they're trying to emulate effective storytelling from TV, movies, and literature without stopping to think that some of those conventions don't work when your audience is role-playing the protagonist, or maybe they think most players don't care that much about keeping their characters consistent. But in a game like TWD, shaping the characters and their relationships seems to be the entire point.

I don't mind Sarah, and honestly I feel more sorry for her than anything else. Hope she's alright. I want Clem to take a shot at being somebody's Lee.

Does it mean that somebody gonna put a bullet in her head also?

Re: Sarah -- My impression is that Sarah has some sort of developmental disability. I don't think it can be explained entirely by Carlos coddling her. He's probably been shielding her from the reality of the zombie apocalypse, but that's only been in progress for a couple of years, and Sarah is a teenager whose behavior seems to go beyond just being shielded or a little immature. I'd expect her to be at least a little more capable if she'd had a relatively normal existence through age 12-13 and experienced typical childhood socialization. So something must have either (1) prevented her from having those experiences (which only seems likely if she had no conventional education and no friends at all) or (2) prevented those experiences from having the typical effect on her, such as a developmental disability.

That still does not excuse Carlos from not teaching her  how to survive, defend her self and about how the world is.

Probably not - killing off Clementine might cross the line of making the story so dark that the audience will tune out and stop buying the games. Frankly, they're getting close to that for me already with the cabin group's apparent indifference to the lives of the entire population at Howe's, some of whom probably don't like Carver at all either.

And while I don't mind Sarah, I don't want to play as her in Season 3. ;)

It's been pretty well implied that Carlos coddled and sheltered her even before the ZA. Simply, she has no real people skills. Which is why her latching to Clem is perfectly understandable. Who knows how long it's been since she's had an opportunity at a friend?

I'm on the opposite side. I would support a Season 3 with Sarah as the main protagonist. ;)

He probably figures she just wouldn't understand it, or that she'd simply be paralyzed by shock and fear if he explained just how bad things have gotten. In retrospect, he probably should have taken the risk of telling her, but hindsight is 20/20 and he may have initially thought they could ride this out and eventually something akin to normal civilization would re-emerge.

(And honestly, it's a little hard to believe that whatever's left of the government or the military would still be completely paralyzed to the point of apparent nonexistence after two years of this.)

Which makes him a horrible father.

Maybe, but I don't blame her for it. It's just natural that someone like her is going to leap on the first opportunity for a friend.

I don't entirely disagree. I just think he probably coddled and sheltered her because of her developmental disability, and that she was likely placed in specialized classrooms with kids who had similar problems.

Now that would lead to some interesting scenarios. We thought playing as an eleven year old was something else, now what about an eleven month old?

Just imagine the action sequences.
