Just started watching. I kind of wish they could shut up for a second so I can hear if Noctis is terribly voice acted. Maybe they do and I'm just not there yet.

They don't in that clip, there might be others.
From what I hear about it he has a deep voice and its gravelly like Batman or something.

Cid was pretty cool though I kind of agree with you there I might of put him higher.
I just came across this thought it was kinda funny.

Yeah I've been hearing complaints about how his voice doesn't fit him. I can't really put a particular voice to him so I'm really interested to hear what his English VA sounds like. He's been kicking ass since we've seen him all those years ago so maybe he should sound like Batman.

Yeah I think it's better than the opposite, a super feminine voice.
Plus, the Japanese VAs for this stuff tend to be very deep (the E3 2013 trailer, I think it was, had the red-haired dude and his voice was super deep), so the English VA following the same style is hardly bad.

I've seen that trailer already. I think you took my comment too literal.

We need a few more lines with Noctis to get a sense of his acting.

Exactly. Splintered dialogue isn't really helping getting a handle on how Noctis's VA sounds. I need to hear a conversation

I stopped reading at "too ambitious for current and next gen consoles to handle" no wonder it got delayed for far too long... It should be PC exclusivehttp://kotaku.com/ho...dium=Socialflow

Interesting that guy said he stayed for 2 hours and went through the entire demo. Other people who played the demo (IGN i think it was) mentioned 3 hours. Maybe it took 2 hours to just do the objectives while other people spent more time exploring and just fooling around. Either way i look forward to playing the demo and Type O on the 17th.

Because they're focusing on a more tight-knit group. What kind of relationship did Fang and Hope have? Sazh and Snow? Vanille and Snow? XIII does a fantastic job of giving us character interaction, but you notice they do it on a one-to-one level--Light and Hope (dang, I hate that little kid (kinda), that one sleeping scene gets me everytime, get.the.flip.away.from.my.girl./rant) on the run for example, or Sazh and Vanille. They have such strong interaction because they can focus in so much. A smaller cast allows this.
And for it being all male specifically, how many females do you think a young prince would encounter in his life? He might know a few powerful queens, or the daughters of kings and queens (are the rulers here even called kings and queens, I don't remember), but by and large he wouldn't know many. He CERTAINLY would not have any female playmates, and very likely would not have a female bodyguard (seeing as how bodyguards are usually male, or the gender of the child othewise). He just doesn't know many growing up, and seeing as how this game is trying to focus on the party as a close-knit group, it's harder to just toss in random characters like Yuffie or something. I'm sure I'll be proven wrong at some point by a female guest party member, but the principle remains.
Yeah who knows what happened to Stella, at this point she's up in the air. As for it being dark, that's still in there, but they haven't focused on it very much--they've focused on Duscae, which is very light on plot.
Are you referring to the general realism-mixed-with-magic thing? I'd argue that XIII was somewhat different--it wasn't realism as much as it was sci-fi. It felt like it was set in the future (except for the "Lightning arrives in France" thing). XV, however, is squarely in our present time (outside of a few things like airships). Heck, it has cars with actual tires and gas stations, and check out the TGS or whatever trailer where they drive through town. It's set in the present while XIII was future.
Eh....... I don't know I could pick on some things but I'd rather just focus on the aesthetic portion, I'd say XIII was realism and Shinjuku just with more random open green areas and stuff. Going through the town sections, the floating monitors delivering news etc, it reminds me of the kind of steampunk/beach/Tokyo blend that has predominated in VII (to a degree), XIII, X (to a degree), all the XIII trilogy, and now potentially also XV.
I feel like there's basically 6 aesthetics in FF. The original I-II which was a kind of warriors of light adventure tale, FF3-FF5, and IX, which were more heavily involved in the warriors of light ideal in conjunction with more a heavily medieval bent to it (because of the jobs and such). 6 which was transitioning between V and VII. VII-VIII, X, XIII, and now potentially XV as Shinjuku/beach the RPG. XII was just a Matsuno game basically.
I'm kind of ok with it because I like it kinda but that's like 5 mainline games with similar ideas in many ways.
As for the female thing Stella just seemed like such a bad mother, the searing rapier and all that, now her nowhere to be found is disappointing. I thought it was just going to focus on those two.

Stella!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She was like Noctis's star-crossed lover right? That's all I remember about her. Can't say I really care if she shows up again after all this time. If she's in the game, cool. If not, cool.

Just remember that that style seems to have worked the best for them.
I've heard rumors about XVI going medieval again, but who knows.
Bad mother? Lolwat? Pretty sure she's not a mother...
We know nothing about any of the cast but the main 4, and a little about Stella and Cor.Although did anyone figure out who this girl is? She seems pretty cool
Where'd you get that pic? It's pretty good, I didn't realize we had anything but the close-up of her face from the trailer.
Hmm, apparently we can click on pictures to get the "big" version now.

They were kind of vague on that point, but yeah. Also, she apparently had "eyes that see the light of expiring souls" too, it was mentioned in the E3 2013 CGI trailer (the one with Noct looking at the moon and breaking the fourth wall).

Oh no I meant like BAMF but that would be all censored so I decided to just go with that, which I guess just made it confusing. Er, if that's still confusing there's urbandictionary.
Unfortunately I've already forgotten where I got that pic, I think it was just somewhere related to FFXV like after the Cidney reveal someone was posting oh look at the black hair chick she's the one I'm excited about. I guess maybe she was in a trailer somewhere?

The only trailer she was in the E3 2013 one.
Ah, I see. I know what that means.

Oh I see you mentioned that, well I went and looked anyway and it turns out someone was re-creating her full image based just purely on the partial glimpse from the trailer. It's not an actual official screenshot but some very zealous fan I guess. Then it just got spread around the internet, the one I got was just from google images honestly.
