Not a fan of the style or the setting tbh. Of course, I've known what XV looks like for a long time, I just wish they'd go back to a more fantasy-based setting a la FF9 or CC. I'm just really tired of the jrock/jpop look. If it comes for PC eventually I'll get it but otherwise it's a pass.

Some demo info.
Auto-attack I can deal with, but auto-dodge? Nah son.

You don't have to hold down the button. If anything it will stop me from mashing the dodge button to death.

WHAT!?
I better start on it after Persona before you kill me or something.
Not playing 6 is something I am very ashamed of.

That's not issue. The mechanic is there. I don't have to button mash the block button to pull of the substitution jutsu in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 either. I could time it. But why would I when a more sure fire method of avoiding damage exist?

That's a good point. Well I have no idea how any of this will work until it comes out.

In theory I think it's a good idea because it makes it LESS twitch. But, as Liam said, we don't know how it works. Will the character automatically dodge and not take damage? or will there be a dice roll? Answers to that might help settle the issue.
Edit: Looking at that tech demo, one thing leaves me mildly concerned--we going to be rotating the camera a lot, lot more than normal in a game, and it controls our movement in a sense. In most games, you try to rotate it so you can just see your enemy. But in this game we're using it for navigation, with the warping.
I'm reminded of Assassins Creed and the problems with navigation people have had there.
Edit: The whole day-night cycle is very cool. Makes me really think it will have some sort of open-world.

I guess a behind the scene dice roll could work. Although I'm not a fan adding stat-dependent mechanics because reasons. And looking at the gameplay they showed thus far, Noctis seems to be avoiding damage altogether when he dodges. As far as being less twitch, it's not a positive for me because I care more about the Kingdom Hearts-esque gameplay they've portrayed than Final Fantasy's traditional battle mechanics. That's the main reason I got interested in it in the first place.

Well FF has always had stat dependent mechanics, and I'd wager that your attacks are stat dependent (how much damage you do).
I can understand your point of view. I took another look and I agree it doesn't look like he's taking any damage at all.

The tech looks cool. Neat to see the rain hitting the ground, and to see it drying up.
I think they need more idle animations.

That magical hookshot ability looks cool enough but it's a bit disorienting. Needs a real hookshot tbh.

Quite possibly the best hair rendering I've ever seen in a video game. Bioware should take notes.
Not sure if snark.....
Because FF is knowen for its very bad hair styles and this one is no different.

Not like the rendering is any better, the boy band looks like a bunch of emos. emo rendering and horrible styles run rampant in this game.

Oh come on, I really hope you're trolling. Rendering has absolutely zero to do with style. They could be wearing pink togas and "render" would mean the same thing.
Edit: That first GIF with Light in the car is amusing.

The hair meshes are miles better than Inquisitions. The hair style however, are pretty sh$t(like most FF games) but you already know this. Their hair styled don't change the fact it Bioware games have crappy hair rendering. Not sure if snark.....

Lol. I wonder. So tsundere! Reminds me of Enig, bless his heart for feeding me enough FF info in these last few days that, even as I type this, I'm still excited that I'll be meeting Light on MY FREAKING PC in about three weeks.
*cough* ANYWAY. On topic...I wonder what happened to Stella? This Luna seems to be out of nowhere--makes me wonder if she's a replacement for Stella, or if Stella became a nickname or something?
