Lol. I wonder. So tsundere! Reminds me of Enig, bless his heart for feeding me enough FF info in these last few days that, even as I type this, I'm still excited that I'll be meeting Light on MY FREAKING PC in about three weeks.

*cough* ANYWAY. On topic...I wonder what happened to Stella? This Luna seems to be out of nowhere--makes me wonder if she's a replacement for Stella, or if Stella became a nickname or something?

I love you too!

*cough* Sooooooooo...

It was already mentioned in the other thread, but I got a Xenoblade feel from the giant monsters--and oddly, from that scene where everything is red and Noct is running and someone is saying "Your date is waiting for you." Very interesting.

Interesting. So they kind of started from scratch. I'm still hoping for a 2015 release with the demo coming out next year.

I haven't read those interviews yet, but here's a thread from NeoGAF detailing a Famitsu interview (Famitsu is a Japanese gaming magazine, so likely not many of us could read it).

http://www.neogaf.co...ad.php?t=899261

They've talked about and shown all the different weapons for Noctis a lot--it looks like you can pick which ones you want to use, which is very cool.

It says that the game selects which ones are "most appropriate," (out of what you chose initially) but I find that hard to believe because in the trailer I saw some weapon switching on the same enemy.

Also, seems like while, MAYBE, MAYBE you can only play as Noctis (that seems to be up in the air), you can select party behaviors, maybe in a manner similar to Gambits or DA Tactics.

Also looks like that Adamantoise can be fought, which is just amazing. The scale in comparison to the party just dwarfs that of the Adamantoise...s? in XIII.

Additionally, here's a translation of the tech demo from Reddit:

http://www.reddit.co...ng_ff_type0_hd/

Don't know if its been mentioned, but it looks like "Jump Festa," whatever that is, will be when they next give out info (unless they do a Square Enix Presents thing).

And the day/night cycle takes thirty minutes...which is really too short IMO.

How does a Final Fantasy/Square Enix fan not know what Jump Festa is?

Thirty minutes is probably the average. Not all that short. GTA's day/night cycles aren't all that long.

I'm not too familiar with the Japanese gaming conventions, with most gaming conventions actually. The only one I ever knew about was E3--I learned about PAX from Bioware, and about TGS because of XV.

Average perhaps, but still too short IMO. I'jruther it was like two hours. That's just me though.

I really hope there's no overarching time mechanic, a la LR. That was a major pain.

Edit: And, reading through NeoGAF threads, it's encouraging to see the FF "fans" losing their scat. More angst than--well, than a Final Fantasy character.

It should use a 24 hour cycle like True RPG Pokemon. (post-Gen-I)

Yeah I must say I find that pretty amusing. Although your use of "scat" disgusts me.

Lol. It's the nice version.

About the trailer (the trailer not the tech demo)--one thing that encourages me: you can see the so-called astral shard in several different scenes, which tells me it's an actual location (the area they're driving in) in the game, rather than just a setpiece made for a trailer.

Saw this on NeoGAF.

Tabata's also in pursuit of a Final Fantasy that's not as overwhelming as its predecessors, and one that can be enjoyed by a broader audience. "With Final Fantasy 15, I do want to make it more casual," he says. "Of course the depth of the game is going to be there, but I want to make it so players can easily experience the satisfaction of the depth of the game." There's an option to set that car to drive itself, allowing players to sit back and take in the sights - although there is also an option to drive it manually, should they want to engage more fully with the world.

"Another example is in the combat," explains Tabata. "With the hardware specifications of the newer consoles, it's possible to set it up so you have different enemies and different choices of attacks you can enter in, but I want to simplify that. It'll basically be a one-button action, and the AI intuitively outputs an action that kind of satisfies, gives you that instant gratification, and it connects with the simple touch of a button. I myself am not getting any younger. I don't want to be frantically pushing buttons. I also want to utilise the intelligence of the hardware spec, and not have to go through too much hassle or trouble in order to execute moves."

He better implement an alternate option on the combat front for people who don't have old and feeble fingers and twitch reflexes.

Oh somebody said what I was thinking:

This may end up being the best system ever that everybody adores.

But my god does he not understand how to sell it. "I do want to make it more casual... it'll be a one button action and the AI intuitively outputs an action that kind of satisfies".

50 hours of one button combat that the AI 'intuitively' sorts out doesn't sound great to me. Can we have some more details on how this isn't going to suck please?

Oooooooh. Maybe, maybe not. It only sounds horrible on paper at this point, according to NeoGaf. It does sound automated to hell and back a bit from what's been poorly described but maybe it's not terrible. I just can't wait to go on a cross-country trip with my bros. And camp out.

To be fair, the whole thing about auto-pilot with the car, I remember FF8 doing the exact same thing with the vehicles on the overworld map. That's not a big deal. The awesome button is worrying though.

I don't think what we know about the combat system is TOO bad (the only thing I think it needs is the ability to switch weapons manually, and it would be fine--weapon switching plus teleports plus dodge/team attacks means you don't need button mashing), that's some hilariously poor wording.

I would also like to remind FF fans, and let non-FF fans know, that FF XII had essentially a ZERO button combat system. So it's not like FF hasn't been..."worse," if you're defining combat interaction as worse.
