 I appreciate the thought Bioware. I do. But the thing is we come to a weird stand off where you can't continue conversations with people you were talking to on a thread which leads into a strange direction. Private arguements that are off topic must be continued on the thread as neither wants the other to have friend access. This can derail a thread. Do you continue where it started, on the thread? this can lead to a bann, but just stopping a conversation due to a feature is hard. Maybe another area to carry these conversations. 

This becomes doubly hard as making friends is often after you start PMing people back and forth. If it is due to people messaging you too much, which I think I may be more than guilty of, perhaps a this feature for the devs? It is very awkward to say the least.
