Anyway, honest and intelligent opinion is: the only thing the claymore has over the raider is the accuracy.

I do have a legitimate question though, why do I see so many GIs using a claymore(besides the fact it is a claymore)?

Good player + Claymore = everything dead 

Good player + Claymore + Hunter Mode's accuracy and damage bonuses = everything dead faster

Up close the raider definitely rules supreme, but at range the claymore takes the lead once again. However with hunter mode or a class that receives additional accuracy bonuses I think the raider is the better choice.

So you say you can get a 3 shot claymoar? (on a tsol or hsol with a thermal clip pack)
Well, I'll call and raise you a 9 shot raider! (same as above. but better on a tsol (never use it that way, but heck, it's entirely possible.))

I could never use the Raider properly, the spread is pretty wide. How do you guys use it anyway, do you have to like stand right next to the mob and empty the clip to bring it down? Point it at the mob's chest so all pellets hit?

They both have their strengths and veaknusses, I would rather use the raider.

I don't use the raider on classes without accuracy bonuses. 3 shot off host raider is better than the claymore, true.

I use it as I find the Claymore a lot of fun on the GI, though I prefer the Claymore on the QMI.

Anyway,
Raider can be better than Claymore at doing damage, but Claymore can be utilized more safe & reliably for certain characters.

Up close and/or off-host it's impossible to argue with the Raider's damage output.

That said, I prefer the Claymore for general use. It's nice to be able to hit things past point blank range.
