It's only better than the Claymore if you shove it down an enemies throat. In which case a Reegar is better than either one.

Truly, the best all-around shotgun is the Wraith. Talon if you're going to allow shotgun-like pistols in the equation.

Off course the raider is superior!

- It has a better damage per second against bosses.
- It is a lot more spammable.
- Its two shots offer me the possbility of killing two separate enemies.
- It is more user friendly; with claymore, you only get one chance. The raider first shot allows for "aim-correction" ensuring that the second shot always hits.
- Raider is lighter.
- Raider is sexier.

Reegar has a range cap. Raider has none meaning that accuracy classes such as geth and destroyer with smart choke can get very good range out of it, and on marksman classes the raider can be turned in to a sniper rifle. I dont really find "shoving it down the enemies" to be harder than the reegar. In fact the raider is easier to use.

The reegar also doesnt kill armour very fast without the incendiary glitch.

Raider does not slow its user down whilst firing.

Reegar is good, but the raider is categorically better.

Well, I'll call and raise you a 9 shot raider! (same as above. but better on a tsol (never use it that way, but heck, it's entirely possible.))
Gotta love the beast.

I once got a 3 shot claymore without any thermal packs and/or marksman/AR.

It was GLORIOUS 

It was definitely worth it to go through the whole horrible match just for that moment.


Anyway on topic, I usually put a raider on my vanguards... The don't have much problems being far from enemies XD

I'm a scrub, who prefers the Raider over the Claymore.

Reegar -- no boom, not a true shottyClaymoar -- big boom but heavy and clumsy

Wraith -- ok, it's really damn good, but that pause between shots  :sick:

Raider -- BOOM BOOM (BOOM with lag), elegant and thuggish at the same time - clear winner

And it's definitely effective at more than melee range.  HVB-Smart Choke-Hipfire is the key to getting damage and range, and with marksman classes it even works pretty well at mid-long range.

If you want to snipe, though, I say just use a sniper rifle.  I run with the Raider and Black Widow on many of my infiltrators.  (It's great to not care about weight)

It's prolly been said but with lag you sometimes you get the 3rd or if youre rly lucky 4th extra shot on the raider
like everyone else before me, yep i agree , its rly good at short range. the raider is mos def better for CC characters than the claymoar
