That's the problem with tranquility.....they are single minded and dont look at all the sides of the story. They just see a problem needs fixed. As a tranquil Karl could not reason with why anders was acting out anyways. He only saw that anders was rebelling and needed to stop.

Exactly.....it should only be used on those who have already committed a serious crime. Not innocents who have done nothing wrong.

So I take you support freedom for everyone?

Like for example that virus? It just wants to be free and multiply!

Innocent people don't exist well at least outside of your head every human is monster most won't admit it.However i don't support RoT simple why deliver someone fate worse than death when you can just kill them which is good solution on mage problems.

Viruses don't possess the intellectual capacity for desire.

Returning to topic, it's true that templars have useful skills, but the Order seems irrevocably tainted by its recruiting practices. When it's torn down, what would be the best way to replenish it with those who are more accommodating?

I don't recall ruissia collapsing despite the millions that Stalin killed.
Or China under Mao Tze Dong.

Saiyng a nation or people are "Doing fine" just because the land didn't fall into a state of total anarchy is not really accurate.

Actually, China did almost collapse and Deng Xiaoping had to more or less fix a lot of Mao's issues. Stalin's biggest kill counts were people outside Russia's core territory.

It's a living being. It has a right to live too.
And how would you know anyway? And even then - so what?

Why would desire as an attribute be of any value or require any special consideration?

It's a living being. It has a right to live too.

The cells within the body it invades and then starts killing have an equal right to live, so at this point it's self-defense/defense of another.

Why would desire as an attribute be of any value or require any special consideration?

Well, I presume you desire to not have me kill you, yes?

So do Mundanes.

And why would my subjective feelings matter?
Why is - objectively - desire important at all?

because our desires (other than remaining amongs the living and to procreate (which some of us are even able to overwrite/ignore!)) are what makes us different from say the monkey (it likes to procreate and to live, but it has no desire for a fancy house, money etc.) and other animals, so yes, desire (and the will to work towards your desire, as well as common goals with other people is what makes us unique on this earth!)

greetings LAX
ps: tranquility is simply barbaric (like LOBOTOMY on normal people (hell we don't lobotomize dangerous criminals, even after they have commited an offense or stick them into sensory deprivation or into single cells without company - this and much more is what tranquility really is (no wounder that tranquil in DA2 asked to be KILLED...hell, you must really be desperate to want to die, so by this reasoning he was desperate and he hated the kind of live the templars and the chantry (as the ones controlling the templars at that time) forced on him!!!))

pps: hell, even those who ASK for tranquility do not know what is done to them really and they only ask because they fear death and are chantry indoctrinated to hate their magic (!)

Mages and nonmages aren't at war.

Objectively, nothing at all is important to an uncaring universe. Everything has to have its meaning decided by humans--also elves and such, in DA.

That's true. One of the side effects after being made tranquil is that you become emotionaless, however supposedly it does not remove your memories. If Anders and Karl were good friends then how come Karl couldn't remember it, and put two together? If Tranquil could reason and have free will then how come Karl did not excerise them?

Because as a tranquil, he had completely lost all capacity to care. Anders was now an apostate since he left the Wardens and wasn't part of a Circle, and therefore was acting outside of Chantry law. It's strictly logic with no emotion whatsoever, as Karl at that point lacked the capacity to feel emotions.

You know that kind of dehumanisation is the reason why so much pointless bloodshed happens in our own world. Please keep pushing the mages to the edge they will become such monsters filled with contempt and hatred for the mundanes they would rather see all mundanes death (which they can achieve by opening rifts) or you will yourself into a position where all mages are death and the qunari or another enemy rolls in and wipes humanity out. the only solution is intergration anything else is suicide.

If you for whatever reason think that only mages can be supported and/or that it is only by supporting mages that you can solve the conflict, then i fear you are going to be severely disappointed.
