-With food prices rising, so do our levels of crime as many become desperate to feed their families.

This is fun.  I wonder how long we can keep this going.

This thread is now half the size of the other Mages and Templars thread. Whereas before, it was very small in comparison.

Huzzah!

Doesn't take much. Maybe we should resurrect the 150 page templar thread?

Considering the "supporter" is only capable of taking the state of one circle and applying it to all of the others....

Not much was lost.

I had to take a break after that scene i was so frustrated.
ScarMK,didn't the other circles rebel too?
Things couldn't have been that great.
I wondered how many circles had that happen.

Most of them came to the tower as kids.

Either they rebelled and escaped or they were Annuled. i don't think any Circles are still inhabited by mages.

As far i renember mages took that fate and agreed to be chantry dogs so their choice most of them rebel only because templars wanted kill them.

- ScarMK: King Alistair forced to march troops into New Lothering after the new Bann hires mages to work his peasants under the influence of Haste magic.

Three peasants died of exhaustion - two were in critical condition from traps placed throughout the fields.

The new Bann claims he was trying to compensate for food shortages

Wouldn't a mage using their powers as a healer attract templars.

I think all of our examples are assuming this mage rebellion works out and mages get their "equality".  In other news, health care cost in Thedas plummets to record levels after huge surge of healing mages compete with each other for business!  More at 7.

The people in Thedas should get Obamacare :)

You mean drive millions of them away from getting their health taken care of, make healing more expensive and raise 6 trillion sovereigns in national debt right?

Of course, we could make things really cheap and have healers open up free clinics like Anders did. :wizard:

It's impossible to call Kirkwall the complete anomaly since there were 14 Circles and we've only really seen 3.

Other than the fact taht we know the Kirkwall was unlike any other Marcher Circle, and that it was certainly a worse place than Kinloch Hold and the White Spire. I think it is pretty safe to say that the Gallows were on the extreme end of the Circle scales.

Indeed. Kirkwall is the prime example of how a Circle should NOT be run.

Agreed with Emperor and eluvianix. Though to be fair Kirkwall in general wasn't that good example of a Thedosian city either. I'm not pro-qunari, but I agree with the Arishok's opinion about the city.

I think that Kirkwall is one of those cities that are just "wrong". There is no way else to explain it, but a feeling of wrong.

No way to explain it?...
Those giant statues of slaves, and the giant chains everywhere are kind of obvious. I doubt that they add to the peaceful ambiance in the city...

Those statues of slaves were only in the Gallows, but the rest of Kirkwall sufffers from the atmosphere of wrong too.

Weren't there 2 ginormous slave statues that guarded the harbor and could like raise a net or something to block it off?
