And the PS4 isn't backwards compatitable, not surprisingly. They have their new cloud system, I think Gaikai, that handles selected games from previous generations. These games, though, might be big-name ones.

And also, I just figured I could add these gifs here. They might have been posted already, but why not?:

Well, are we sending them to Sony thanking them for not being as terrible as Microsoft, or are we sending them to Microsoft to appeal for a revamped Xbox One by bribing with sweets?

They said backwards compatibility would be worked on in the future to incorporate PS3 games, just not when the PS4 is released.

Hmm I guess I'll have to wait then. I want to get it to show support on launch. But one of the main reasons I wanted the PS4 is to experience all the games I missed on the PS3. I only played one PS3 game and that was Metal Gear Solid 4 on my brothers console. Also I already mention I didn't like the paywall for the multiplayer but I can handle it since I already pay Xbox Live Gold any way and it'll be cheaper too with free games... So I am Golden.

True, but it would open the entire PS3 library for you to purchase, since it has some great games.

Of course, they might release alot of those on the network anyway.

Well, I'm kinda hoping they'll be available on Gaikai.

I hope they rerelease games normally and not just gaikai, since gaikai will just be to stream games, like onlive, which.. yeah thats not a very great experience.

PS4 it is, then. At least one console company still has its head screwed on straight.

I am completely relieved and happy, along with excited, for PlayStation 4. I am going to support Sony bigtime.

I never owned a PlayStation in my life, having grown up with NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Game Cube, and a Game Boy in the early days. This generation I made the move to Xbox 360 in 2008, having got back bigtime into gaming after a long departure as I was in college and focused and cash strapped. I like my 360, although it never had any exclusives I like, but its good. Although I don't like the ads when i pay money for Xbox Live, and Kinect made me annoyed. I was annoyed when they focused on that and not games this gen. Still, all the multiplatforms I needed.

Being pumped for next gen, I sort of made myself a free agent. I eagerly anticipated Sony's reveal and watched. They came out, and said to me: hey, you. Core gamer. You are our focus. You are our central philosophy. We want to do everything we can to appeal to you, make things easy for devs to make games for you, give you a wide array of strong gaming features, and give you powerful console hardware to play it on. We are planning on creating a network that can get games from the past to you, too, but we will be open with you and tell you it will take time. We have a console of powerful, simplistic hardware by game creators, for game creators. Thanks for checking us out, and we will discuss more at e3.

The rumors surrounding MS got my attention, especially after Adam Orth. Then the pathetic reveal with the fake people with plastic smiles, all this crap I couldnt care less about, and the weaker specs. And then the drm. And then the always online. And then the spy camera.

Sony then talks to me again, and treats me as a gamer and focuses on me. They show me awesome games, says I am their focus, tells me they respect my rights as a consumer (and uphold the law), then gives me an offer I can't refuse and is very reasonable. Everything I want and more, along with respect, for a good price. And tons of perks at a better rate for online then I currently get.

Preorder. Very excited, and their marketing was no doubt aimed at me from the start. If they follow through, and devs seem pretty happy sofar from what I hear, its going to be a great next generation.

Can't wait to see more of The Order: 1886, as its steampunk with sweet weapons and I hear Santa Monica is good, and more from others down the road.

E3 was pretty much the PS4's time to shine. Cheaper price than X1, and it treats its user as an actual gamer rather than a potential criminal.

I know that it won't be backwards compatible, but since I don't own a PS3 that won't be an issue for me. However, I do hope I can access PS3 titles using its cloud gaming. There's a few titles I'd like, particularly the God of War games.

Honestly, wait for user reviews. I bought the PowerA controller for the PS3 and it was a piece of crap. The sticks were so bad, the wore down in a month. They did send me a brand new one when I contacted them about it, but that one was pretty crap as well.

Not sure I'll buy this particular model, but I'm glad these controllers are being made for PS4: I really can't get comfortable with the dualshock anymore and I much prefer the Xbox controller.

Maybe Razer will make one? Their controllers seem nice.

From what I've heard, backwards compatibility will be done through cloud gaming.

"When that nervousness was starting to migrate into control over physical goods that consumers have purchased, that was a bridge too far.” -Andrew House, president of Sony Computer Entertainment

So this man, appreciates gamer opinion and acknowledges them as the ones people ask for opinion when buying new console, he considers indie games important and compares them to "arthouse cinema", he'd like more cooperative multiplayer experiences instead of just competitive...

Man's on a roll
