Atleast they recognize the mistakes of PS3, and are rectifying them.

I'd wager it's to stop the little kiddies thinking it's a quick scheme to get rich if they do something stupid. Don't worry, we all know attorneys work for free. Also don't forget you don't have to pay all the legal fees associated with suing someone as well as wasting everybody's time. *sarcasm*

I think they're more worried over class actions.

I wouldn't go and praise Sony either. While they did better than Microsoft, the PS4 is sub-par at best.

Name a company that does. Even Valve has this, and I think Nintendo does as well. This is an industry problem, not a console one.

They both agree on gouging customers with fees for simply playing multiplayer.OdanUrr wrote...

I'm sure Sony is thanking MS for making the addition of paying for multiplayer harldy an issue when the X1 is a disaster public relation wise. I'm going to wait until well after launch before even considering getting a new console.AshedMan wrote...

eta I've no affiliation with best buy.
I was a PS+ member who let my status expire for money reasons. I like it and I'm going back on it.

I don't understand how $50 a year for a very robust service is "gouging customers." Never felt it on xbox 360, not gonna feel it on ps4. You get so much more then just playing multiplayer, WAY more on playstation actually, that its actually insulting to insinuate as much. PS4 is getting party chat, that alone is worth the sub imo. Then, just because why not, they toss a bunch of games at us to play. Games that add up to way more then the sub fee. So yeah, value for sure, not gouging.
Butthurt PS3 players that liked having the "free multiplayer" as an attack point against 360 need to get with the times. The sub will help make psn a better service. Its not just "we want more money for no reason." And its not like its really that much money. Its less then one new game a year. If thats really so expencive for you then how the hell do you hope in even getting the console in the first place?

Paying $5 a month to receive free games and God knows what else isn't quite what I'd call gouging.

It most certainly is. They have you locked in to their system and are forcing you to pay for multiplayer. It's gouging. They throw in the free games to try and cover up that fact. I don't want their free games. I want to play the games I've paid for on the system I've paid for through the internet I already pay for. You're multiplayer is being held hostage by the console manufacturer.Lathrim wrote...
