Um...that was real footage from the engine. And Im sure there will be some other trailers down the road

the fact that BW created trailer using game engine does not really make that trailer "real footage". "Real footage" is what player sees in his\\her game client directly (and which is not pre-rendered and coded into vid).Um...that was real footage from the engine.

So, yes, I would like to see gameplay, it's par for the course these days and I'd really like a demo, but I do not expect to get one.

Go to the corner and think about what you've done.

Friendly tip: commas are great. They help you clearly organize your thoughts in writing, and make reading much more pleasant.
The trailer we saw yesterday was probably an accurate representation of how the finished game will look. It was made within the Frostbite engine, using Bioware's own art and assets. It was, for all intents and purposes, a look at the actual game.
We'll get a chance to see gameplay later on in the development cycle. Right now there's probably not much to show. This trailer did an excellent job showing off the world and introducing us to the story, which is exactly what a good trailer should do.

Not pre-rendered either. Seems like basically cutscenes in the game except cutscenes we probably won't see b/c they were made specifically for the trailer.Nrieh wrote...

So they moved on from kicking puppies and kittens out of windows?

No, they're simply adding on to said kicking of puppies and kittens.

You're the second person I've noticed make this mistake in the past day. Allan Schumacher was kind enough to correct the first person in another thread, I suggest you read his post before going off half-cocked again.

In general, it's ill advised to declare that a "real" X can only be "my very specific narrow definition of X," especially if you don't fully understand X in the first place.

He still refrained outright from saying whether the trailer was rendered in real time or not. Not to mention that he makes no mention of the type of hardware they were running nor what post proccessing if any they had used to touch up the footage. Quite frankly, unless I see "REAL TIME IN GAME FOOTAGE" in bold letters, I am not going to assume any trailer to be reprsentative of what the game would look like. Regardless, I think the real question is that if this trailer is the only thing they could show us right now, then what does it mean in terms of how far along they are in developement. Personally, I worry whether a 1 year delay is even enough if this is the quality and the content they show for one of the biggest hype event of the year. Of course, they could very well be working so hard on the game that they had no time to devote to making a well polished trailer, but I highly doubt that when you put DA:I's trailer side by side with other ones from the EA's conference.

Why not just be glad that we have a trailer, at least? You do realise they're probably working on EVERYTHING and haven't even gotten proper gameplay done yet?
If they did release gameplay, I'm sure it wouldn't look half as good as what we would expect since it's still in development and then more people would complain.
Can't you just be patient?

So basically, all I've seen is:
"Come on Bioware give us awesome graphics make a great game!"
*Bioware gives trailer with awesome graphics*
"This can't possibly be real Bioware, your games never looked this good before therefore it has been heavily processed and/or faked!"
Sigh. Poor guys can't win
