Yeah, I ended up using a targeting VI, not the same at all.

I had a better first run where I was 24 minutes into wave 10 drone escort, but then the drone decided to completely disappear. The second run I got trolled by targets on wave 10 and I had no missiels left. Third run I was a bit more careful and a bit more frustrated, so the time is longer, but 10 waves survived.

Did you ever "gimp" phantoms on host? and were they gimped for your runs?

 

Nope. If I modded them I would not post the times. I have that kinda of honor.

And getting to Wave 10/Extraction <30 minutes, and then getting downed with no meds by lolgoons or insta-stabbed, more times than I care to admit, I finally did this one.





Changed the build up (below), went with a less aggressive approach and it shows in its time, but YAY SUCCESS! Build below.

Nice job The Eight! I similarly had to ease up on the damage output to increase survivability after a lot of attempts. It still is rewarding to get er done! Congrats!

I also thought that the week 2 challenge times were much too quick, so I balanced it out with mine -> click 

Let's just say my Shep Clone took a little longer to walk off the coma and ended up taking a scenic route. But he managed to get off of Noveria

haha I know. I did another run afterwards and actually had a somewhat respectable time, but died out wave 9 at like 24 mins. I finally got an AR III last night though, so I have 1 attempt in me.. lol I'll def give it another shot. I'm sure I can shave 10 mins off of that at least.

Wow. That time is seriously quick for this challenge. Nice job. Second overall on the leaderboard! Plus I' think I might give your build a try.

At least I have found the best build for me to get this done. Well if I do not let the Phantoms come to close as usual.

Anyways I guess the build with the geth scanner is still better than mine... It is soo frustrating to run into a turret or into a respawned phantom. If there is interest I could upload the video.

I've tried it with this build a couple of times and I think skipping fitness is probably the best option for this challenge. Losing 325 shields is really not that much and I already got Geth Scanner + Adrenaline Rush + Cyclonic for survivabilty. The damage boost of AR is also nice to quickly deal with Atlases. I use CS mainly to deal with Phantoms and to detonate tech bursts, but it is also helpful for crowd control during objectives. The Grenades are used to deal with groups of enemies and to stagger Atlases.

I wasn't very lucky with objectives today, so best I got was 31:14, but I'm conifdent that I can get at least 26-27 on a good run.

Thanx Yeah, that Geth Scanner is worth more than a little bit of shields. The Warfighter package I took was a bit of a waste in my build. It only increases the Valkyrie damage by 36 per shot and I almost never had more than 4 grenades...

@MaxShine: Thanks! I've got quite a few interesting ideas (I think) for future weeks and in general just enjoy coming up with these. It's also fun to see you guys destroy these with sub 30 times. Great job on that run. I definitely think people would be interested in seeing the vid, esp. considering it's the current quickest run! I agree too, I've really started to like the valkyrie and pure headshots with this character.

@Hendrix: That build definitely seems like the most damage output possible. I'm not sure if I'd be able to pull it off with that much less health though. (I'm sure others are in this situation.) We'll see, I may have to come up with a balance similar to Max's. You're prob right though, that build and luck on ops is key to the quickest time.

I think anybody completing these is already above average. being in the middle of this list, with times in the 30s is hardcore. Sub 30, insane. plus nobody has even close to the same musical experience your vids offer!

the best way to deal with phantoms with the current setup would be conc shot spam, but I am a sucker for frag grenades. 
No fitness and use cyclonics?

Sync-killed on one of my better runs, much quicker than my 50 min run. ARIII is soo much better than targeting VI haha. And now I'm fresh out of ARIII amps, 8 APs got me nada. So looks like I'm sticking with my time for a while.

This solo is a lot tougher. I hate spamming grenades, but I'm having a hard time with the phantoms. I could kite them, but that's not my style. Bleh.

The valkyrie is a lot more inaccurate than what I thought it should be. I only used the gun once before this solo.
