Thanks guys ! It makes me want to try again with the valiant to get a better time. Honestly I find this challenge very fun, even if I raged a bit sometimes against collector captains, lasers from praetorian corpses and bouncing possessed aboms exploding on my head .

My run this morning I had the 20 headshots before the 25 smg kills is that makes you feel better.  Unfortunately, I got super praetorianed and failed as it switched to wave 10.

So, I tried to redo week 2's challenge. My first time I had gone no adrenaline rush. This time, I went with no concussive shot. This build + disruptor rounds

It started out well. I hit 20 headshots early into wave two. I also tried out using the scope with infrared view. I had targets wave 3, used 4 missiles, hack wave 6 and a dirty wave 8 left me with absolutely 0 equipment in wave 8. Then I got devices in wave 10. I have no idea how I actually still pulled it off. I managed to shave 3 mins off my previous time. haha. It's still very slow, but I'll take it. 



Not sure if I'll upload it, or try to improve it a little more.

Thanks. I almost rage quit in wave 8, but realized I need creds for consumables for next week's challenge! This was almost as stressful as week 3's challenge. I might just upload it cause it's better quality than my last one

 Decided to go ahead and give the 2nd challenge a try.  Had a couple runs before I settled on my set up.  It proved very effective at dealing with phantoms.  I am uploading the video now.  Link is below and it should be available in about an hour.

Here's a tip for Gold. If you want to guarantee that you switch the target in one missile, make sure you kill both the target and the enemy it will switch to. If you end up doing enough work on the spawn budget then the target will switch automatically to a lesser unit.

But guaranteed, killing both the Dragoon and Atlas (at once) for Wave 3 targets will change the target to a Dragoon or a lesser unit

Here's my submission for the Insanity challenge for this week

I was down to 0 gels by wave 6 or 7 (adjusting and all as it was my first attempt). I actually found the Viper fine with the bonus damage from warp ammo when killing the Troopers and Captains (your main worries so long as you can kite). 5 Waves survived for the tail end of the game I'll try to upload the vid asap and get started on a better time for the Hardcore challenge

I would also like to add on what heroicmass said and say that these challenges have given the game new life for me. I've never soloed gold outside of speedrun attempts and these are pretty fun.

Congrats heroicmass and smoothcriminal on some solid runs! I'm interested in seeing how you dealt with phantoms heroic and smooth, no gels at wave 6 and finishing in that time is crazy!

@smooth: Thanks for the tip! You would think I'd know that by now. I'll definitely try to switch targets on future solos. I'm glad these challenges have brought new life to the game for you. I'll try to continue with some interesting stuff in the weeks to come!

I don't why but Week 2's challenge is giving me fits. I have tried multiple builds and still haven't found one I love. Got to Wave 10 last night with 2 gels and got Targets. Only had 3 rockets left because I got targets on wave 3 and 6! If only I was speed running, dat RNG. Got gooshed trying to setup a perfect missile so I could downgrade the Atlas. Well at least the RNG blessed me with this:

I agree with you, week 2's challenge has been the hardest one for me so far (and the slowest). A number of people have posted their build for how they dealt with the phantoms from spamming CS to grenades with shield damage and bleedout effect. I still find it very tough.

This is the build that worked best for me with disruptor ammo (but I'm not sure it's the best out there.)

So I didn't really want to wait until the next challenge to try recording a run so I just went for For Thessia! again because it's just a really fun kit/enemy/map combination. I thought I'd get a slower run but I got this instead: http://i.imgur.com/xVEzncz.jpg. Will be uploading soon.. It shouldn't look too bad I think, though the audio is sort of terrible. It'll feature a lolps3long loading screen and me having terrible aim and whatnot. (edit:) Oh, and in two parts because I'm a scrub.
